I read a few more paragraphs until I heard footsteps upstairs.
I gulped and heard the basement door open before running to the other side of the room and hid under the stairs.
Steps were heard from above as dust and wood chips fell down from under the stairs as I heard large footsteps.

I heard him walk across the floor and saw him sigh in relief.
Germany then grabbed the notebook and turned around.
I sunk down into the boxes that were kept and arrangements of old maps, hoping he wouldn't hear me.

Unluckily, he must have heard the boxes shift because I heard his steps come towards me!
I covered my mouth and carefully sunk back into a corner.
I found an old blanket and covered myself with it quickly, trying to be more quiet.

I could see through the blanket a bit and it looked as though he was confused.
I covered my mouth from giggling and he scratched his head.

"Italia?" He asked as he moved boxes around.

He looked around for a moment and shook his head and chuckled once.

"It vas probably just a mouse."
He murmured to himself and walked away.

I sighed in relief and carefully moved myself to the edge. He was writing in his notebook and I knew I would have a shot to the door.

I quietly shifted myself and stood up, I tip toed up the steps and I wiped my forehead.
I carefully climbed the stairs, as I was scared that they would creak.
I gulped and climbed them one at a time, before CREAKKKKKK.
I gasped and Germany turned around surprised.

I sprinted up the stairs and ran down the hall.

"Italia!" He called as he ran up the stairs after me.

I sprinted to my room and shut the door.
I wiped away my sweat upon my forehead.
I sat down on my bed and heard footsteps from down the hall.
I dove underneath my bed.

He opened my door and I saw his boots. He walked around for a moment and opened the closet.
I crawled more under the bed and he dug through it for a moment, and kneeled down.
I opened my eyes fully as I was met with bright blue ones.

He sighed and reached under and took my hand, and pulled me out easily.
I gulped as I stood up.
He studied me for a moment before sighing.

"Vhy are you hiding Italia?" He asked.

I stuttered, "~Ve! I-I'm not-a hiding! N-Nope! Not at-a all! I need t-to go actually." I muttered and tried to go around him, but he stopped me.

He looked over with a raised eyebrow, "Vhy are you so jumpy?" He asked.

I shook my head quickly, "J-Jumpy?! No! It's-a just how I act." I said grinning nervously.

He chuckled merely once, "Vhy were you in zhe basement." He asked, locking eyes with mine and I turned away.

"~Ve...I was just-a wondering why you were-a down there earlier." I muttered.

He sighed, "I vas just...writing somezhing." He said and let me go.

I shifted uncomfortably for a moment, "Germany?" I asked.

He blinked, "Ja?"

"Say it Italy! Say it!" I thought angrily to myself.
"Why was my name in your journal. It isn't that hard! SAY IT!" My mind screamed at me.

I brought up the courage, but tripped over my words.

"W-Why was-a m-my n....nevermind!" I said quickly and grinned nervously before skipping away.

I looked back as he watched me go confused.
I sighed in relief and headed outside, needing to get out of the house for a while.
I facepalmed and cursed myself for not saying anything.

"Why is it so-a hard to talk to him!" I asked myself angrily.

"Just-a say it Italy! Ti Amo. It's that-a simple! Say it!" I said to myself as I kicked rocks away and sighed angrily.

Say it!
