Phil agreed and walked with Shane to just outside of the forest.

"You can't tell anyone, promise me?" It was obvious Shane was worried. Phil nodded.

"So, there are a few people that the group don't like for their own personal reasons - I never really know the reason why, I like to stay out of it - and if it gets to a certain point, the group make the decision to do something about it. That's where I come in.

There are stages in the way we work, each one becoming more severe. I'm part of the first stage, at this point the person is given to me, I'll ask them any questions that the other three want to know. I can tell if they're faking their answers and if they are we have our ways of making them talk. It's used as a way of helping the group discover the persons weakness, so by the final stage Alfie will know what to do with them, but we have other methods too, there are people on the outside who help us every now and again.

If the group want to continue they go to the second stage, it's a lot worse than the first stage, but not much better than the third. They'd punch, kick, whatever brings a person physical pain - Marcus and Alfie are strong enough to leave marks, it's only really used to scare people for what'll come. There aren't any long term physical injuries, but as for the short term effects and on the psychological side of things, it's not a position I'd want to be put in myself.

Then it's the third and final stage. I hate this part and I usually sneak away at this point, I can't bare watching it. The person is passed over to Alfie, and he decides their fate, alongside a few others. They can either die or live, but I can never decide which one's worse in this situation.

Marcus can kill with a single bullet to the head, or he could shoot in places like their feet, that'd hurt excruciatingly, but not enough that they'd die. It's probably the most humane method whether you're living by the end of it or not.

I'm sure you know Alfie's power, in the sense of being able to both murder and keep people alive, he's the weakest of the three. He can't kill, but living after he's finished with them is literal hell.

Being sent to your own worst nightmare drives people to lose their minds, they go insane. They're stuck and can't get out. Alfie can see into the world of everyone he's ever used his power on, but they can't see him, it's like one way glass. He constantly laughs at all the damage he's done, the others laugh alongside him. I just can't see the humour in it, I laugh but it's all forced.

Cat's the most ruthless out of the three, there's no competition. She can turn a person into stone, going so far as petrifying the lungs so they die from a lack of oxygen, or stopping the blood from flowing around the body, I'm no scientist but I can guarantee that won't end well.

But she could also petrify a persons legs, stopping them from walking. She's once paralysed every body part except the organs, veins and the blood on one poor guy so he was incapable of doing anything aside breathing, he couldn't even speak.

Her victims are often dumped way into the woods where no one would find them. Regardless if they were dead or alive, the end result would be the same. It always makes me really upset."

Shane was now crying, the horrors he must've had to watch were unimaginable. Phil wrapped his arms around Shane, allowing him to weep onto Phil's shoulder. His words were almost inaudible, he called himself a murderer, and that he knew he ruined so many lives, only for the selfish reason that he was out of danger.

"I'm supposed to be part of a gang with the capabilities of killing and yet here I am crying on the shoulder of a boy I've only properly talked to once." he smiled through his tears.

"I'd be beyond crying if I was you. I'm going to find a way get you out of that group."

"No! You can't do that, I've told you what they do to people - I don't want that to happen to either of us. Trust me, it's better this way. I'll be alright, I promise. I've been fine for six years, I'll be fine for however much longer,"

Phil didn't agree entirely, but Shane had survived for this long, if he didn't get overly involved, stayed the same as he had done until now, things would be fine. As fine as it was possible for things to be.

"Don't tell anyone about this. This conversation never happened."

"I promise I won't tell."

Phil had admitted to being scared of that group in front of Dan, now he was nothing short of terrified. He had his answers, and he'd found out that sometimes ignorance really was bliss.

A/N from me of the future: I don't dislike Alfie, Cat and Marcus irl. I'm pointing this out purely because a lot of people hate them for some reason (Cat especially) and I've been asked if hate them too?? I made them bad guys bc they're always he bad guys in fanfic, it's not meant to be taken as anything else.
I'm neutral with all of them bc I don't watch them.
That's just something I felt I had to say lol.
