The ship had arrived not so long after the chilling conversation. Everyone boarded except for Lenori. The ship sailed off as she waved goodbye. Because Tarik was no longer with them, Lenori offered to take care of them in his place.
The deck was big, with 3 cabins for the oncoming days journey. The group decided when the time would come for who would share a cabin. Rollan and Conor together, Meilin and Abeke, and Alyssa and Reese.
The other four still hadn't trusted Alyssa yet. The same with Reese except for Conor. Obviously they knew each other, but not very well, so there was still some tension between them.
Reese guessed that from hearing Lazarus's prediction that she'd have to trust Alyssa, so why not now? She'd already became a greencloak before they left and Alyssa had done the same. She'd also been with her for a while, so she decided to be nice to her from then on.
Her friendship with Rollan and Abeke were different though. Meilin was already showering her with questions about her being a princess. Reese guessed that was better than her completely ignoring her. Conor's relation was sort of the opposite. He kept his distance for sometime, but eventually would have a conversation with her every once in a while.
The days on the ship were long. Most people got sea sick or would have a long lasting head or stomach ache. The animals were not pleased with the ocean swishing them every which way. Reese and Meilin kept their spirit animals in dormant state mostly all the way. Abeke, Conor, and Alyssa would let their animals out sometimes, but they were quick to return them back. Essix still hadn't trusted Rollan to go into passive state a lot. She mostly sayed perched on the ship's sails.
The trip lasted several days, but they'd finally came across their destination. They arrived at Amaya near the Amayan Rainforest, which was home to Ninani's waterfall. The waterfall fell into a long ever flowing river. "Somewhere along the river Ninani hides and protects her talisman", Tarik told them before leaving.
Their ship anchored at a beach just outside of the rainforest. It was beautiful. The sand was like little topaz jewels scattered along the shore. The trees held blooming pink and sunset orange flowers with lime green leaves that the trees wore. Not even Rollan had seen or heard about this part of Amaya. This was the only place that Rollan felt at peace with the world. To make things better, Essix swooped down and landed on his shoulder. Still, her talons pierced his shoulder, but he didn't care.
The whole group was silent, staring in awe. It wasn't until Alyssa spoke that the group forgot about their quest," what now?", she repeated. Reese instantly released Lazarus from his passive state. His hide glimmering in the sunlight, but to the group's surprise he had a saddle on his back. How can an animal bring something into passive state with them? They can't?
He began to canter to the army of trees when he stopped, turned around and trotted back towards Reese. He stood next to her with his head turning to look at her. She saw in his mint green eyes what he was trying to tell her. She put her foot in the stirrup and used it to pull herself up on to his back. She mounted gracefully with the group watching the whole time and replied to Alyssa," we came to seek the talisman of Ninani, a Great Beast, correct?"
In return Conor answered,"yes",staring at her curiously.
"Then we find the talisman and full fill our quest", she said determinedly.
She took one glance at everyone then back to Conor. She looked forward then gently kicked Lazarus's hips. He answered to her command and started to walk to the rainforest with the rest not far behind.
