Her Song {A StarCo Fanfiction}

Chapter Nine

"Take that! And this! And some of these!" Star shouted excitedly, as she continued mashing the brightly-coloured buttons on her GameStation controller, completely at random.
Her short-haired, blonde in-game character followed up combo after combo, relentlessly, in a flurry of uppercuts and leg sweeps; obliverating the other on-screen character in a matter of seconds! Star watched happily as her opponent's health bar dropped down to zero.
"Haha! I win again! Were you even playing that time, Alfonzo?" The princesses asked, grinning.
"I was, but I just stopped trying, you know? I mean, this is your 20th consecutive win after all, Star..." her glasses-wearing friend replied, sulking a little. "And all you were doing was button-mashing..."
"Hehehe! I guess that means I kick butt, huh?"

Marco, Star and Sear had been invited over to Ferguson's room to hang out for the day. They had accepted the invite mainly because the trio had nothing better to do nowadays, plus it gave them a good excuse to go and see their two good friends.
"Who wants to try next?" Star asked, grinning confidently at her small circle of friends.
"Don't worry, guys! I'll break her winning streak!" Ferguson announced, plopping down in front of the TV, picking up the abandoned controller Alfonzo had been using before he'd ragequitted.
Sear sighed a little as she watched the intense match on-screen, whilst she rested her head of long, curly, blond hair on Marco's lap.
What Tom had said to the blond earlier was still bothering her...
'Emotions fade, Sear...' the redhead's voice seemed to echo through her head. 'You haven't got long and you know it as well'
The tension stemming from her apparent upcoming dissapperance was driving the blond up the wall!
'Will I really dissapear or is this just one of Tom's schemes?' Sear asked herself, wrapping a lock of blond hair around her index finger. She only really did this when she was in deep thought, just like Star did.

Marco's chocolate-brown eyes navigated away from Ferguson and Star's game and a sour-looking Alfonzo, who was walking over to the kitchen in order to replenish the group's two large snacks bowls.
Instead, his full attention was drawn to Sear, who seemed to be worried about something.
"What's wrong, Sear? Something up?" He asked, nonchantly.
The blond glanced up at him and smiled.
"N-Nothing! I'm fine, Marco" she replied, almost instantly.
"Really? Are you sure? You look sort of distressed, it's worrying me a little..."
Star's doppleganger pushed one of her fingers to the bruenette's lips and pouted in her cute, Sear-like way.
"Girls don't like it when a guy's too persistent, you know..." she said, eventually breaking into a smile.
"O-Oh, okay...I understand..." the Safe Kid replied, smiling back; but despite the fact that a large grin was plastered on his face, he couldn't help but feel really uneasy about Sear's behaviour...

From the other side of the room, Princess Butterfly had gone on yet another crazy winning streak, destroying both Alfonzo and Ferguson several times in a row!
"Are you sure that this game is yours, Ferg? Because, I am owning it right now!" She chuckled, as the blond watched her seemingly infinte combo eliminate the redhead's health bar in a matter of seconds.
"Yes! Victory yet again! Want to have another match, Alfo-" Star started, but she was suddenly cut off by the vibrating of her cellphone. "Oh, sorry guys. I have to take this call, it's from my Mom"
Both of the boys nodded, happy that they could play without getting completely and utterly beaten for a while.

Star went out into the hallway and answered her phone.
"Hey Mom, what's up?" She asked, casually. "How're things in Mewni?"
"Oh, they're just fine, dear. But we need you and your clone, Sear I think it was; to be here as soon as possible. We have a lot of ceremonies and parties to attend to"
"Awww! Do we have to go to those parties?"
"Of course! Making relations with other countries and royals is very important!"
Star sighed down the phone, miserably.
"Oh, come on, dear. It is only for one week..." Queen Moon urged her daughter.
"Okay, we'll turn up..." Star replied, almost immeadiatly caving.
"Excellent! Your father and I will see you tommorrow at Mewni International Airport with Sear!"

And with that she hung up.

Star walked back to her friends and plopped down next to Marco and Sear, coming close to the Safe Kid's ear to whisper something...

"Sear and I are going back to Mewni..."
Those were her exact words...
