There’s only about two nights left until the full moon, it had been hard these last few days Fang had went back to the cave to talk to them but left me here, it was a freezing night, like the one when my parents were killed and I was found by Fang. I’ve been waiting for him to come back but eventually I just curled up in the cold snow, there was a wet nose pressed up against my cheek when I awoke,
“Fang?” I mumbled opening my eyes a crack,
“No...I’m Hopeslight, but you can call me Light...” replied a female voice, I flew back it was another wolf. “it’s ok!” she was a yellow wolf with black eyes, “Fang is one of my friends... I’ve come keep you warm and watch over you while he talks with the alpha...”
“Ok...”I replied and curled back into a ball shivering, I was still nervous around any wolf except Fang, I was half asleep when I felt a warm body lie down next to me. I opened my eyes and saw that Light had snuggled up next to me to make me warm.
She was so warm I couldn’t resist rolling over and pressing my face against here back, she was just like a large dog. She glanced back and saw me half asleep smiling she turned her head and rested it on her paws. All that was left was to wait until Fang got back.

The sun had just risen when I heard a thunk, and awoke with a startle, and looked out of the den. What I saw startled me so bad I almost passed out! What I saw was a wolf attacking Light! But it wasn’t a wolf form the pack it was a starving wolf wanting food, it wanted me for lunch! I ran back into the den and heard a whine as Light was struck by the wolf, it was starving but still strong.
I found a stick and ran out of the safety of my den, Light was laying on the ground getting attacked by the other wolf, the stick felt extra heavy in my hands but I flung it at the wolf and it hit its head with a CRACK! as it broke in half. The wolf froze and soon it was facing me and started to run towards me, I had to do something I was shocked and the first thing that came out of my mouth was,
“STOP!!!!!” the wolf skidded to a stop and growled at me,
“You know our language? You taught a human our language!” the wolf yelled with a snarl
“Yes we did... what are you gonna do about it, now she can tell all the humans about YOU so if you come any closer then you will truly get it!” Light tried to stand but fell instead, the wolf looked scared,
“I’m sorry for any intrusion... um bye.” the wolf ran off with its tail between its legs. I ran over to Light and dragged her into a den.
My parents were the doctors and had taught me all sorts of things about herbs. I rubbed Lights fur all over myself so I could hide my sent. Then I ran out into the snow. I found all sorts of herbs mostly in the clear areas. Soon I had all the ingredients for a medicine to numb and heal. Her scratches would be gone in a day or so. I ran back to the den and mashed up the ingredients into a paste and I gently said to Light,
“This may hurt for a minute but it will help so please bear it!” when she nodded I rubbed the paste on to here scratches,
“Ahhhh!” she scram out of pain, her scratches were deeper than I thought, and I had to apply more paste. She was quiet after a few minutes and fell asleep. I covered the cave entrance with branches and snow, hopefully nothing could smell us and come in, I don’t know if saying stop will help the next time around.
After about ten to fifteen minutes of watching her I decided to take a nap. I fell asleep in a corner away from her and drifted into a restless slumber.
Scratch scratch! I awoke and found Light was still asleep the scratching was coming from the door something was trying to get in! I ran to the door and looked threw a small hole in the branches. Threw the hole I saw Fang he looked tired and happy all at the same time. I was so happy I riped the door down and ran out and hugged him,
“Fang you back!” I was so happy, then I remembered Light, “oh my gosh! I need you help!” I dragged him into the den and showed him Light,
“Light! Oh my gosh what happened?” he ran over to her, and that’s when the long story started...

“And that’s what happened.” I finished, he nuzzled her,
“What is this green stuff on all of her scratches?” he inhaled a whiff of the herbs and wiped his head back,
“Sorry it smells horrible, but before my parents were killed by ‘him’ they would show me herbs and read stories of healing to me. And when she was hurt I thought back and remembered a healing past. I grabbed the herbs I needed and made that.... I hope it works.” he looked shocked,
“Does it work?” he asked I little concerned,
“i um.... I don’t really know... its about time I wash it off... but how am I gonna do that...” I was still a kid and didn’t have the most brilliant ideas yet.
Suddenly Light stood up with so much speed she hit her head on the top to the den,
“Kid kid!” she looked around and rested her eyes on me, “oh good you ok.” she laid back down looking peaceful,
“Um... how did you do that?” I questioned my thoughts, maybe her cuts weren’t all that bad.
“Do what?” she asked picking up her head
“Get up! that’s amazing how are your wounds feeling?” I was just glad she was ok,
“Wounds? Oh yeah... there feeling great.” she licked off the green past covering one of the sores on her paw. And all of us gasped including Light,
“My sore... it’s gone!” everyone was looking at her paw, Fang looked up at me,
“Your magic!” he gasped
“What?” I was still unable to take my eyes away from her paw, they were still staring at me when Fang finally broke the silents,
“come... its time to go back...” I jumped on his back and he started sprinting towards the alpha's den with Light by us the whole time.
