The gurney squeaked. Restraints dug into Emily's wrists.

The doctors ignored her, fitting electrodes to her temples.

One slipped a bite guard between her jaws.

The inspiration for this piece came from a conversation I had with my mother-in-law about how husbands used to be able to commit their wives and get them shock therapy. We both agreed this is terrifying. While our unfortunate hero isn't a committed wife, but an undercover journalist, the outcome is still creepy as hell.
