Chapter 24

"Come on. Can we go yet?" I whine and Vic chuckles pulling his jacket on.

"You seem eager." He laughs.

"I am." I grin though it's half a lie. I'm really anxious actually.

We're just about to head off to Oli's party and it's the first time in a long time that I'm leaving the house. I'm just so excited to be doing something and also to see my friends again. I'm just not looking forward to seeing anyone else. I know that everyone's going to be watching me, judging me and I know that Vic knows it too.

"You going to have something to eat before we go?" Vic asks and shake my head.

"I don't eat before I drink. It makes me feel sick." I lie but Vic believes it.

I've put on so much weight lately and no doubt everyone is going to notice. I'm definitely going to feel insecure the entire night.

"Alright, but you're eating breakfast tomorrow." He says sternly and I nod.

I hate that he cares about me so much but then again, I love it at the same time.

He takes my hand and we leave his room before going downstairs.

"Bye Mama and Papa." Vic calls and they call back a 'goodbye' before we leave.

We start walking, seeing no point in taking the car since it's only a short walk. Vic's text tone goes off in the silence of the night so he pulls in out and looks at it.

"That's Mike. He says that Oli's waiting for you." Vic smirks and I can't help but to giggle.

I really missed Oli. With all the drama going on, I really need my best friend to cheer me up and give me a good laugh. Oli always seemed to cheer me up even if he didn't know that I was down.

Vic and I walk a little while in silence before he lets out a light sigh.

"Kells, people are going to want to know what happened and where you were. You don't have to tell them anything, okay? You don't have to take shit from anyone. It's none of their business." Vic explains and I nod. "If it all gets too much, just let me know and we'll go home."

I nod and place a light kiss on Vic's cheek.

"Thank you for looking out for me." I murmur and he smiles lightly.

"It's what I'm here for." He breathes and I rest my head on his shoulder.

"I love you." I mumble and I swear I felt a shiver go through his body.

"I love you too." He replies, squeezing my hand slightly before we walk the rest of the way in silence.

When we get there, my heart is pounding in my chest. We walk up the front lawn, where there are already drunken people stumbling everywhere and drunken couples making out, before we reach the already open door. We walk into the house and Vic holds my hand a little tighter. I notice people's eyes on me straight away but I ignore it and put my head down. We walk through the house looking for Oli until we finally find him, playing beer pong as always.

"Oli." Vic says catching his attention and he looks up, grinning when he sees me.

"Kells." He grins putting his cup of beer down and then throwing his arms around me.

"I missed you buddy." He mumbles.

"I missed you too." I admit truthfully, hugging him back tightly.

"Beware of Tay when you see her. She's going to go ballistic." He warns are I laugh lightly.

"How have you been?" I ask pulling away and he smiles lightly.
