"So Austin do you come from a big or small family?" Jailene started off with the interrogation.
"I have a rather big family actually. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. I am child number 3 from the six of us."
"You do realize that Peaches doesn't...", Lucus began saying but was interrupted by Austin.
"Peaches?," Austin questioned.
"Oh yeah Averey and I have our own little nicknames for each other. She calls me Cranberry Sauce and I call her Peaches. A little weird I know but it is what it is," Lucus said. Austin looked at me and chuckled.
"As I was saying you do realize that Peaches doesn't have any family to rely on so it's pretty much just Jailene and I?"
"I am aware that she had been taking care of herself for quite a while without family and I'm very impressed to see how well she has become since." Lucus smiled from Austin's response. Good answer.
"Are you going to introduce her to your enormous family?"
"Actually I planned a dinner at my house tomorrow for my family to meet her personally." I had no clue of this ever happening and I'm not sure I'm okay with it. I hate people showing off their families.
"Wow already going to visit the family Ave," Jailene murmured to me. She noticed I was not happy with that at all. She changed the subject.
"So exactly how old are you?" Jailene continued.
"I am 28 years old."
"Let's go a little bit more in depth here. When did you realize that you started getting feelings for Averey?," Lucus said. Oh I'm paying attention to this answer. Austin looked me in all seriousness.
"I knew Averey was different the first day I met her. She was very honest with me and I admire that in a woman. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous but she is very smart and hard-working. Though I knew I had to be very careful around her because she is very tempting. When she came in her first day of work I was very nervous but I wanted to talk to her even more. I thought lunch would be good enough. But we both know that it didn't go as well as I had planned. You are so mysterious Averey and I wanted to know much more about you, that's what attracted me to you. And I found out that I feel more for you than any other girl." I was speechless and so was Lucus and Jailene, for once. It was quite for awhile.
"You know Austin you hurt my friend the other day when she seen you with the blonde girl. What I don't get is why you showed Averey you have feelings for her two days before you went out with blondie but you automatically left her for blondie?" Jailene was holding nothing back.
"Uh he doesn't need to answer that one. Next question," I said.
"No its fine I'll answer. You guys realize that I'm Averey's boss and she's my personal assistant, it seems out of sorts that a boss to date their personal assistant. Before I thought this through fully I was scared what people would say or do to me but more importantly to her if they found out we were dating. But now I can give a shit what people think or say because she's not just my personal assistant anymore she's my girlfriend. She actually told me it wasn't a good idea that we get any closer than professionally and I agreed because I didn't want her to get hurt."
When did this happen? Did he just call me his girlfriend? "My parents thought me and 'blondie' would be a good match and I gave it a chance because I knew Averey didn't want me the way I wanted her. So I tried to move on but it never happened. I want Averey more than anyone else."
This was too much! I can't take this anymore. I started to cry and ran to my room. I got in bed and cried in my pillow.
How can someone have this much feelings for another person like Austin has for me? I just don't get it? He can show affection so easily and I can't! It's because he grew up with a huge family. He knows how to love. I never had a family to show me affection. It was only me and my dad and we didn't show much affection towards one another. I regret it so much now that he is gone. My mind is going to explode at any moment.
I heard someone knock on my door.
"Averey," it was Austin.
"Come in." He walked in a little wary.
"Are you okay?"
"I'll be fine."
"Can you tell me what just happened because I'm confused."
I laughed and wiped my nose on a tissue. "It's just everything you said about me. It got to me pretty hard how you can say all those nice things about me and I will probably never be able to show you that much affection because as you know I never grew up with a proper family and wasn't able to receive or offer affection."
"Ahhh that's what you're worried about." He sat down next to me. "Averey you don't even know that you do show affection 99% of the time everyday." I looked at him in confusion.
"Let's name a few examples shall we...um oh yeah you are always thinking of others before yourself. Like today you got out of bed and went to go check on you're friends and made breakfast for them and me, which was delicious by the way and you made cookies for Amy the other day just because you wanted to. You think for others before yourself and if that's not affection than I don't know what is. And you do show me affection Averey. Like when I pretty much forced you to go with me to that charity event and you were a team player all night. And most importantly you show me the most affection when you kiss me. I feel fireworks in my head every time we kiss. That Averey is affection." Woah.
"I guess if you put it that way, I do show affection even if I don't know I am."
Austin gave me a kiss on the lips and forehead and eyelids and cheeks and lastly the nose.
"Now that's me saying thank you for showing me affection."
