Jessica had left and I continued to do the dishes just to keep myself doing something so I wouldn't lose myself to thought. Harry had looked confused but I didn't attempt to show him I noticed as he stopped next to me. "You don't have to do those." he says and I shrug quietly. "Do you not like Jessica anymore?" he asks while grabbing a dry towel and starts drying the dishes as I rinsed the soap off.
I shake my head. "She helped you get rid of me." I say to him quietly and all he answered with was "Oh."
We continued our dish washing system quietly for a moment until his hand had brushed mine when I handed him a plate and I dropped it not meaning it when I had jerked back. The plate had shattered in the sink and Harry had just subtly smiled and started picking up the pieces. "Sorry." I recover nervously and he shakes his head. "It's fine, my fault." he says and walks over to the trash.
"So, when I head in next Monday to the studios, you wanna come with and have me pull you in until I can see what's going with the vet school?" he asks and leans his hand on the counter next to me. He was a little closer than he should be and it made me more nervous.
"There's nothing you can do, Harry. I missed the exam." I shrug and wash the soap off my hands before stepping back away from him to gain some space from him. He never really knew personal space to begin with but there's something behind him being too close that becomes predictable. I knew by the look in his eye lately that he's in the process of trying something. I escaped last night when I had the chance.
"Well if there was a way I could get you in to retake the test, would you even want to continue?" he asks and I shrug, looking down as I dried my hands off. "I don't know what I want anymore, Harry." I answer him honestly and he just rests his hip on the wall as I entered the living room and sat on the couch. "I think you do. You're just too afraid to tell me." he says lowly but when I looked at him he didn't have any trace of a twisted smirk or anything like that.
"Would you blame me for it?" I shrug and he sits on the couch next to me and faces me with a knee pulled up to help him face me. One of his dogs, Bones, I think his name is, laid his head on Harry's knee and he pet his large head. "No, I wouldn't. I think you're stronger than you make yourself out to be to put up with everything you've went through." he says and I shrug. "I wasn't given a choice." I say and he looks up at me with his deep green eyes that were very hard to look into right now. "But you can talk about it. That's one thing most wouldn't want to face." he says and I shrug. "That doesn't make me strong, Harry. That's just facing reality." I respond and he shakes his head and starts laughing. "You just don't get it." he says and I furrow my eyebrows at him.
"What?"
He lets out another laugh. "You're so oblivious to what you are." he says and I raise an eyebrow. "What? The victim?" I say and he laughs again. I loved his freaking laugh. That shouldn't even be on my mind right now.
"You wouldn't get it even if you saw it from my point of view." he says and brushes his hair back when they fell in his face.
"No, I probably wouldn't." I admit and look ahead of me. He didn't answer right away but I had quickly turned my head when he touched the scar on my neck. I know it sticks out. That's why I keep my hair over that side. I had turned towards him so he'd stop touching it. "Do you wanna go somewhere with me?" he asks, biting his lip where his ring used to be. "Where?" I ask and he shrugs. "Anywhere. Just get out for while." he says and I shrug back. "Sure." I say not too confidently and he gets up and grabs his keys.
I had no idea where he had in mind of going but he took all back roads and it was kind of... fun. Harry had his sunglasses on and he'd smile with a laugh when I'd ask if this is the part where he kills me. I was falling over his smile all over again. This Harry was a lot more looser. A lot more wild and forgiving. It was all written in his eyes. The Harry I first met was wild but in a harsher, violent way. He held onto things just to hold to his sanity but now he let's go and relaxes. He takes things as they come.
