Tamara's POV :
The shrill ringtone of my phone woke me up.
I was glad that Ryder was holding me or else I would have fallen on my butt because of my scary ringtone.
Ryder had stayed the night since he wanted to make it up to me. He was guilty that he had doubted me. But I didn't mind. He had experienced so many difficult situations in his life, that trusting people easily was nearly impossible for him.
"Hello." I spoke with a sleepy voice as I answered the phone.
"Hello, Tamara." It was Dr Pretsel.
"Oh hey. What's up?" I asked her, rubbing my eyes.
"I wanted to inform you that Ryder has a treatment session today. He's not picking up his phone, so I thought that I should tell you." She explained.
"Yeah. He's asleep, that's probably why he isn't picking up his phone." I replied.
"How do you know that he is asleep? Is he at your place?" Dr Pretsel had a mischievous tone to her voice. I could practically imagine her wiggling her eyebrows playfully.
"Uh, yeah." I dragged my answer.
She chuckled and said, "Just get him to the Hospital at 2 pm."
After she hung up, I sighed and glanced at Ryder.
His black messy hair was splayed beautifully across his forehead. His long eyelashes were casting shadows on his gorgeous face and his soft lips were a little open. He looked so peaceful that it gave him a boyish look.
I smiled at his sleeping form.
He wasn't wearing a shirt as he always preferred to sleep without it.
His carved tan skin was on full display, the tattoo on his strong arms glistening in the morning light.
I ran my fingertips over his prominent collarbone and noticed a sheen of goosebumps form over his skin.
I couldn't help but laugh at the effect that I had on this beautiful person.
"It's rude to stare." He said, his voice thick and hoarse with sleep.
"Well, I can't help myself when the person I'm staring at, is so beautiful." I replied, still shamefully looking at his features.
"Why, thank you." He said in a fake British accent.
He sat up, running a hand through his already messy hair.
"Why are you up so early?" He asked.
"Dr Pretsel called me since you weren't picking up your phone. She told me that you have a treatment session today." I explained.
"Oh shoot! I completely forgot about that. Do you have a shift at the Hospital today?" He asked.
"No. I have the day off." I replied.
"That's too bad. I wanted you to be with me during my session. Will they allow you to be there even if you're not working today?" He asked, a glint of hope lingering in his eyes.
"Uh, I don't know. I guess, we'll find out when we go to the Hospital." I replied.
"Wait. You're coming with me?" He asked.
"Is that even a question? Of course, I'm coming with you. Even if I don't have to work at the Hospital today, I was still gonna come with you." I replied, as if it was that obvious.
As soon as those words left my mouth, he engulfed me in a hug.
His naked torso emanated warmth, which seeped into my body through my thin tank top. His strong arms circled my waist. My arms immediately moved around his neck, one of my hands slowly tugging at his soft hair.
