(This is kind of inspired by "A Permanent Hug From You" by Dodie Clark.)
I squeezed into the train. Luckily, I was really tiny. It was extremely crowded as it was the peak hour, when many people, including me, were going to work.
It was also near the end of the peak hour, which meant many people would alight the train soon.
I watched as the passengers get off the train in huge groups. Not long later, there were a lot less people.
Suddenly I felt a lot colder. Most probably because there were not many people in the train. I was shivering. I was only wearing a long-sleeved shirt and jeans, but it was not warm enough. I should have brought my sweater. The train ride should be about half an hour more. I hate being cold.
Just then, I heard shuffling from the seat next to me. I turned my head to see a green-haired man wearing a beanie taking off his jacket, only left with his long-sleeved shirt.
"Um, you look really cold, so... here, you can take it." He smiled and handed me his jacket. He also had a really thick Irish accent.
"Wha... N-no, you don't have to, keep it for yourself." I pushed it back to him. I looked up and our eyes met. Such beautiful ocean blue.
"Take it," he repeated. I nodded and thanked him, not breaking eye contact. I unconsciously got lost in his striking blue eyes. I only noticed that I was staring at him until he looked away for a second. I felt my face get extremely hot. I awkwardly took my eyes off him and put on the jacket. It was too big for me but comfortable and warm.
"So, er... Hi, I'm Sean, but you can call me Jack." He stuck out his hand.
"Oh, I'm (Y/N). Nice to meet you," I replied, shaking Jack's hand. His hand was warm. I released his hand and put my hand in the jacket pocket. He looked out from the window and turned back to me.
"I'm gonna be getting off at the next station, so..." He spoke. I raised an eyebrow at him. "Can I... er... have your number? You know, to be in contact..."
"S-sure," I stuttered a little. We exchanged phone numbers and the train stopped. Jack waved to me as he got off the train and I waved back, smiling. He was a really nice person.
"Jack, did you remember that day when we first met? About two years ago?" I looked up to face Jack.
"Of course, you were shivering so much. And you were too pretty for me not to notice you," Jack whispered the last part, looked down at me and chuckled. He cuddled me tighter.
"You were cute and really sweet too," I smiled. "Giving me your jacket just for me... And leaving yourself cold."
"I love you, (Y/N)." Jack gently moved my hair out of my face and pecked my forehead.
"I love you too, Jack." I turned around in his arms and kissed him softly.
