Once we got to the tip of the tree house, there where a few folded blankets on the ground, a notebook, and a guitar.

"What do you think?" Luke asked

"I love it, it's beautiful up here." I said while we both sat down next to one another.

"Thanks, this is usually where I go to think and write songs." Luke said

"You write songs?"

"Yeah, I've only written a few, I want to be a country singer some day." Said Luke

"Can I hear a song?"

"Sure." Luke said while grabbing his guitar.

He started strumming and it looked like he was struggling a bit, but he also seemed nervous, aw he's nervous for me. Once he started singing I was amazed

I guess we don't quite understand down here
What makes Him do the things He does
Why some people go so soon
While some grow old
I've learned we're just a step away
And tomorrow might be kind of tough
Nothings promised in this life
All you can do is believe

So it must have been the way the sunlight hit you
And shined upon your face
Or how the rain would find you
On the driest of days
Your smile in the morning
The way you'd reach for the sky
How you danced in the breeze
As people walked by
So it must be true
What I once heard
God picks His favorite flowers first

I bet He put you in his window sill
Looking out over this big old world
And I know Heaven sure does love
Having you around
In His eyes we're all the same
But I just gotta think when He saw you
And how perfect and pretty you were
He just couldn't wait

Yeah it must have been the way the sunlight hit you
And shined upon your face
Or how the rain would find you
On the driest of days
Your smile in the morning
The way you'd reach for the sky
How you danced in the breeze
As people walked by
So it must be true
What I once heard
God picks His favorite flowers first

Yeah it must be true
What I once heard

God picks His favorite
God picks His favorite
Flowers first

Once he finished there where tears in his eyes.

"Oh Luke." I said while hugging him. He just stayed there in my arms crying. It broke my heart.

About three minutes later he stopped crying but his eyes where red and puffy.

"You want to talk about it?" I asked.

"I guess."

"Okay go on."

"Well, a few years ago, my mom asked me to got to the store and buy some milk because we where out, but I was busy doing homework, so I asked my brother, Chris to do it." He said with a few tears running down his face.

"Of course Chris said yes and... and... and he was hit by a drunk driver. He died that night. He explained.

"I'm so sorry Luke, I can't imagine what it's like to loose a sibling." I said while hugging him.

"It's okay, really, so did you like the song." He asked.

"Yes Luke I absolutely loved it." I said truthfully.

"Thanks Ashlynn."

"So can you tell me more about your family?" I asked.

"Only if you tell me about yours after."

"Okay cowboy." I said with a smirk.

"So I have 1 sister named Kelly, her husband, Lee, my mama and daddy, LeClaire and Tommy are divorced, Kelly and Lees kids, Jordan who's 8, Kris who's 4, and Til who's 3. My daddy owns a farm, we plant peanuts, I spend my time playing music in bars. I'm single, I live in a little house by the Muckalee, I like to hunt and fish, I'm 22, my birthdays July 17th and my favorite colors blue." Luke said.

"Okay your turn." He said with the most blinding smile I've ever seen.

"Okay so I'm the only child, my mother, Rachel passed away right after I was born, so my daddy, John raised me. My daddy's a farmer, cotton, wheat, and peanuts to be exact, I just moved here from Texas with my best friend Savannah from, I'm single also, I live just down the road,  I love to fish, my birthday is December 5th, I'm 21 and my favorite color is purple.

"Interesting." Luke said with a smirk.

"Shut up!" I laughed and slapped his chest.

"Make me." He said.

I blushed and he pulled me in to his lap and I sat there staring into his eyes. Until he leaned in and so did I.

Our lips met and that's when I knew he was the one, the way our lips moved in sync with one another, I can't explain how I knew, I just did. When we kissed I could feel the sparks fly.

"That was the best kiss I've ever had." Luke said quietly when we pulled apart.

"Me to." I said.

"You wanna get out of here?" He asked

"Whatever you want." I answered with a smile.

And with that we where back in his truck.

"Your place or mine?" He asked.

"Mmmm, how about yours."

"Yes ma'am." Luke said.

We pulled up and he helped me out of his jacked up black Chevy and we walked inside.

"Let's get some sleep." I suggested.

"Okay." Luke said

We walked to his room and he took off his t shirt and changed out of his jeans then put on some basketball shorts.

"Uh can I have a t shirt to sleep in?" I asked.

"Yeah here you go." He said and handed me a Georgia bull dawgs shirt.

I pulled off my tank top and flannel and slid on the t shirt over my bra.

I decided to just sleep in my underwear and his t shirt.

We both crawled into bed and I cuddled into him and he wrapped his arms protectively around me.

It felt right.

"Goodnight baby girl." Luke said and kissed my lips softly.

"Goodnight cowboy." I said and kissed him again.

I could get used to this.
