As soon as Rey clicked the submit button she tilted her head back and groaned.
Nothing was more mundane then filling out a application sheet for a roommate. The crook in her neck getting worse by the second. It took her way longer than anticipated to fill the thing out, hoping it all comes to great use. Needing the company badly and the rent being just raised, she was barely getting by. Standing up to stretch, rey eyes the clock on the wall across from her. It was 8 pm. Though she went to sleep much later then this time, she was beat. Working nine hour days can do that to a person. Dragging her self to the tiny room with the bed taking up most of the space, rey flops down onto the mattress. Her arms sprawled out. She lets out another groan. Time seems to be slowed for her. Days stretching longer then she would like. Becoming more and more isolated. It was unbearable.
She shrinks down into a little ball. Hugging her knees to her chest. The feeling of silence sliced right threw her. The only sound was the buzzing of the refrigerator. That small annoying sound has been there for her for quite a while now. Almost two years has gone by. Two years of coming a long way from a broken past.
Getting out of the orphaned home she was raised in, better yet called hell. Rey had to work the majority of her highschool days off in the factory's. Just enough to pass her by for when she'd move to the city. Now here she is...Living the "dream"
The fear of always being alone prickled at her mind at this peak of the night. The only thing that would make this any less tolerable was to ring up her friend Fin. Fin, a young man who just like Rey, perused their dreams of living the big City in New York. The two instantly formed a bond and became close friends.

"I mean I could face time him...but I am just so tired..." "screw it." Rey picks up the phone on her bed and dials up Fin. By the second ring he picks up. The screen displays a young man in his mid twenties wearing a red polo. His hair, short, black and curly hair paired with dark skin. The smile he wears showing misfit.

"Can I help youuu?" He asks in drawn drunken speech, a sly smile that widens when Rey roles her eyes. "I have problem of being bored, help me."
"You see, I totally would but I have someone coming over soon..." Fins lips go into a o shape.
"Who a girl? Literally last week you were complaining about how no girls look your way."
"Yeah, that is true, but I met this awesome girl at the bar.. her names rose. Turns out she works on the same set that synth does, can you believe it?" Rey in her mind couldn't tell if this was Fin showing off to her. As long as he was truly happy, that was all that mattered considering his rough past.
"Are you kidding me? What bar did you meet her at? Was it some kind of elite place?"
"I mean a little, you know how I am with being able to get into places that are usually off limits." He gives his signature wink and with that Rey scoffs. His pestering nature being better than thou all is funny at times but in times like these it's a bit annoying. Only because Finn of all people was able to find someone tonight. She was hoping they could get cheap Chinese takeout at least.
"Fuck well, what the hell am I supposed to do then if you aren't free?"
"Check out Brando's I hear it's poppin' tonight, lot's of hot guys?" Fin's fox smile now turning cheap looking. The only good thing about Brando's was if you were looking for a domestic abuse case. Nothing good come's from that bar, as she found out first hand.
"Who's that behind you? He's kinda hot." Rey spots a young man with jet black hair talking to a young blonde woman. Finn looks behind him and laughs.
"Oh that guy? Total douchebag, you are way better off not knowing."
"Oh come on, you know I'm bored, douchebag or not, I need something tonight."
Finn this time rolls his eyes, his smile dropping.
"Some big shot CEO who think he runs the town. Little does he know the chick he's talking to has herpes."
"Oh my god."
"Yeah, names Kylo or something." Finn gives a raised eyebrow. "Still interested?"
"I think I'm better off at Brando's."
"oughta girl." With that Finn hangs up the call and Rey is left looking at her own reflection on her phone. Her hair strands flying up in the air from static. With a little shower and some makeup she'll be good in no time for the night. It would be a shame to have Finn rule this ungodly hour. . Not on her watch.
Taking a shot of golden liquor gives her the courage she needs for the night. One swipe gulp and she knows she's good to go.
