Queen of Rebellion

Science Fiction/Action-Adventure - R

The Seven Circles created a community of obedience and order to be obeyed to the highest degree. In a world where your own thoughts could get you killed, the people had lost hope in ever returning to the freedom they once had. When a woman from another world crash lands into their home and proves herself worthy of the name “hero”, it was then, and then alone, the people realized it was time to rise.

Bin-Rah was the name she was given when she arrived as a stranger. Kalanisi is the name she was given when her bravery shook the faith of the masses. Soldier was the title she was destined to hold. Bred to fight, living to lead, dying to protect, she is the savior of the Seven Circles and the Queen of the Rebellion.

Introduction

The explosion hit us so fast that there was no time to think. My body was struck hard in the midsection and I was tossed backwards, through bulletproof glass and out into the exposed wasteland. I wasn’t prepared and so I didn’t have any protective gear on. As far as I knew, in that moment, I was dead.

My body started to scramble around, trying to find a center of balance and regain rational thought. I couldn’t hear because of the explosions blast having temporarily taking that away and my eyesight was nothing but white blurs. Before I could fully stand, another blast had pushed me even further back and off the face of a nearby cliff. I knew this was a cliff only because our ship had been trying to find a way around it during our exploration.

As my body plummeted, the pain in my broken and bloodied body started to fade. As most people must do before they die, I thought about all the things I had accomplished and then those things I had not. All in all, my life had been good. Not great, no poor, but good. When I hit the waters below, I couldn’t help but wonder what a revolutionary discovery this would have been if I would have lived long enough to report back that this planet might have indeed been inhabitable after all.

My eyes shut tightly as the green waters grew darker the deeper I sank. The bright lights from one of the suns became so small that by the time things had gone black, I couldn’t help but think it looked like nothing more than a tiny, distant star.
