Something that Elizabeth had thought would happen when she died was that your life flashed behind your eyes while it happened.

That is not what happened with her.

As she crawled out of the deep lake, she pushed her wet hair out of face and laid on the ground, her feet still in the water because she couldn't go any further. She did not remember crawling out of the water, or even waking up, for all that matter. All she knew is that now she stared at the sky.

She wrapped her arms around her cold wet body and froze. She was supposed to be vouching and choking up water, but her chest did not or fall with breath. She hadn't even noticed that she wasn't breathing. In fact, she didn't even notice when she didn't have a pulse.

She scrambled to her feet and looked around. She be dead. How is she here right now? She was not cold, nor was she hot. She should have been freezing from the water, from being dead. Tears could not come to her eyes, either, for as much as she had wanted to cry.

Instead of pondering for any moment longer, she decided walk on the edge of the road, going westward. She did not think about a thing. She was dead. This could not be real. Nothing could be real. This was her imagination. The life between death and new life, or death and the way to heaven. Maybe she was going to hell, though, for nobody could know exactly where they could be going.

After about five miles of walking, and not feeling any aches or pain, she spotted a piece of parchment paper attached to a tree. She quickly ran to it and yanked it down.

Come to Dr. Fears' Circus Of Dead! We are located just west of the Mississippi River in a small town called Wright City!

Elizabeth held the paper tightly. Circus Of Dead? What the hell could that even mean, considering I am dead? She bit her lip and looked around, up and down the road, multiples of times before giving up. Wright City was close. It was just here in Missouri, and it couldn't be too much further away than where she currently was.

She continued to walk until she were to come upon her destination.
