A Dragon's Cave

We talked and talked and talked. I learned that water dragons can breathe underwater and that they have no wings and can't breathe fire. I also learned that breeding two dragons together that are different could result in a different subspecies of dragons. When a mountain dragon feels sick you can feed him rocks and they will make him feel better. Fire dragons can not only breathe fire but sometimes set themselves on fire without hurting the rider. When a rider is bound to a fire dragon they are immune to fire. I really wanted to test this information! I got up and got a torch. I got Aradace to light it and so thought telling anyone what I was doing I put my hand in the fire. Kain yelled out and Aradace stood up so fast I thought she would hurt herself. I kept my hand there and started to feel tingling. I smiled and said to Aradace "blow fire on me." she was outraged she said "Of course I will NOT. Do you think I want to make you into a pile of ash?!" I laughed and said "No the man- his name is Bale- he said that when a rider is bound to a fire dragon they become immune to fire. I only feel a little tingle wherever the fire touches me."  Aradace nodded slowly and then opened her mouth. I could see the back of her throat light up as the fire got closer. I saw Kain start to panic but I smiled. Aradace blew fire on me. It engulfed me. I could hear the swoosh and crackle of the fire. I loved the feeling. It was like my whole body was tingling. I laughed and once Aradace's fire was out I laughed and hugged Aradace. I was ecstatic. Aradace said "Oh my gosh that's SO cool!" I laughed and said "This is amazing. And guess what. You can light yourself on fire and I can still ride you. And your fine too!" she jumped around and asked "How!?" I laughed and said "I don't know, blow fire on you foot see what happens." she lifted her foot and then blew some fire on it. At once it spread like fire on gasoline. She said "Your right it kind of tingles." I laughed and got on Aradace. I told her to fly and she did. We were flaming across the sky. After a little we dive into the ocean. When we came out we were fine. No fire no smoke. No anything. I walked over to Kain and he grabbed my hand. He immediately jerked his hand away and I could see a huge burn on his hand. He said "Haven! Your hot to the touch! Oooooooooowwww!" I looked at his hand a reached for it but again I was hot to the touch. I felt tears come and fall down my face. They steamed and evaporated into the air. I ran back to the water and dove. I swam under water and around me the water boiled. I went deeper and eventually there was no more water boiling. I swam back up and out. I touched the water and it didn't boil. I touched everything I could and got no reaction. I wasn't hot anymore. I ran to kain and grabbed him. At first he struggled because he thought I was still hot. I kissed his cheek and then lifted his hand to look at it. It was burned very badly. It was black around the edges. I leaned down and kissed his hand. He screamed and I saw red flames coming from the wound and it started to heal. We both looked at his hand in awe. It was completely healed with no scar. He looked at me and then to his hand. Back and forth. I smiled and he did too and we both laughed. Bale came over and said "When a person bonds with a fire dragon they get special abilities. That's why people were so afraid of a Fire dragon rider. You can heal people you care about. You can make yourself heat up so you burn whoever touches you. You can also summon fire and use it for your aid." He turned to Kain, "When someone is bound to a mountain dragon they get 5× stronger. Basically they are stronger than anyone in the world. You being the king, it makes you stronger than any of the other mountain dragon riders. You can also camouflage into any earth surface." I turned to kain "Oh! Can you blend in with the trees? Come on go over and try." we all walked to a couple of trees. With Kain put his back to a wide tree and waited for a second he slowly started to disappear. I looked around. Kain? Are you still in the same spot?" he reached out and when his hand left the tree his arm turned to normal. I smiled. "That's awesome." he moved from the tree and for a second he still liked like a tree. I said "That's great, you can hunt much better." we all laughed. We both looked to Bale. I said "So you have anymore useful information we need to know about?" he nodded and said "I have a dragon." we stared at Bale. He had a dragon? All of the sudden both Briggen and Aradace jumped over us and stood in protective stances. I walked up to them and looked between them. On the other side of them stood a very tall very pretty bright green dragon. I stood Back and looked at Bale. He said "Yes that's my dragon. You need calm him yourself because you're the queen and you control all dragons now. He stood back and crouched. Kain stood in front of him so he was out of view of his dragon. I walked forward and to the dragon. I stepped forward. The forest dragon lowered his head so I could look him in the eye. I felt a new link and opened it. I could feel the other dragon his concern and his love for his rider. I smiled, "Hello, I am Haven, you might know this but I'm your queen. I know you are worried about your rider. You probably felt his panic. He is fine and I need you to calm down because your worry is affecting me and your rider. I had noticed that my head had filled with worry about people and about Dragons and I was wondering about too many things at once. The Dragon lowered himself to the floor and bowed his head. He said "Yes my queen. I'm sorry. Bale was missing from the cave of the forest. I was very worried that someone has found the cave and stolen Bale." I nodded. "Bale! Come forward." I heard hurried footsteps and bale shot forward. He said "Yes my queen?" I laughed. "First stop calling me that and second of all I've done it. Third of all, You can go to your dragon." He smiled widely and ran to his dragon. He jumped on his dragons neck and his dragon roared in happiness. The Dragon looked at me and blinked in thanks. I said after a moment I said to the dragon "Now, can I know your name please?" the dragon responded "My name is Herik. (Eh-rick) I nodded. That's a suiting name for a forest dragon. I looked towards bale and asked "Are forest dragons poisonous?" Bale turned surprised and said "Yes, how did you know?" I smiled and said "I really like finding the meaning of names, his means poisonous." Bale nodded "That's why I named him that." I nodded and said "How about all other forest dragons. Tell me about them." Bale nodded and we all sat down. Aradace and Briggen went over to Herik. Bale started "Forest dragon have poison. They don't have it in their mouth no that's a snake. They are poisonous to the touch. Only their dragon rider and the King and Queen can touch them. Or someone who has the dragon rune but that's been lost for decades. Even centuries." I hesitated but nodded. He continued "They also can camouflage in a forest or jungle. They can fly expertly through trees. They have very soft scales and that's usually their downfall. Even though their scales are coated with poison. I nodded again. I suddenly had a question pop into my head. "What happened to the dragons?" Bale and Herik looked at me and bowed there heads. They looked up and stared and after a split second started panicking, I didn't know why but I couldn't hear them. It was all fussy. After a minute my vision started to get dark. I tried opening my eyes but they were already open. My vision was black and I started to see images. They were going too fast to see and after a moment they all stopped. I looked around the black room and I heard footsteps
I turned to the noise and saw a tall man. We stood for a second but He said "Hello, dearest I know you must be confused and maybe scared but you shouldn't be. I am here to take you on a journey a very short journey through the past. Its important though not many people want to see the past. Shall we? I think the past you're about to see will shock you." I nodded and he held out his hand. I grabbed it and he said a few words and a few seconds later there was a door. A beautiful door. He said "I can't go with you but I'll see you off." I nodded and stepped up to the door. I reached for the handle but I looked back at the man and smiled, "before I go through can I know your name?" he smiled widely and said "My darling, my name does not matter. Over time is has become less and less significant. I guess over time everything really degrades into nothing. My name, dearest, does not mean anything because nothing means everything and everything means nothing. But I can tell you that your name is important. Remember your name because it's very significant. Don't let it fade." I stood there for a moment. I nodded, "Thank you." He smiled sadly as I walked through the door.
