After I snapped out of my trance, I hopped up from seat and ran into the woods. I was tired of him being like this to me. Why would he do this? I wanted answers and I wanted them now. People were staring after me while I ran like a mad woman heading towards the woods. Vivienne gave me evil looks as she stood and watched me with hatred filled eyes. This came weird to me since I didn’t know her body contained hatred.

I walked through the woods slowly dodging things that got in my way. I walked and walked trailing myself deep within the woods. The air was cold and I started to shiver. I didn’t bring a jacket.

“Keegan!” I yelled. “Keegan!” He didn’t answer as I walked deeper into the dark mysteriousness. I had no idea where I was going. A while after I’ve been walking I spotted Keegan’s head. “Keegan!” I marched up to him with bubbling frustration. When I was with arms length away from him I planned on pushing  him and making him fall, but like I said many times before, fate hasn’t been on my side lately. Instead of falling like I wished, he just stood there not even moving an inch.

“Yes.” Was his calm response. I got angry again. He just makes me so mad, I just want to punch him and get it over with, but something in my head told me it wasn’t the best idea.

“I’ve been walking in these woods forever looking for you. What the heck was that back there?” I yelled. A pained expression covered his face.

“I can’t tell you.” He murmured and looked into the woods.

“What do you mean you can’t tell me? I want to know everything. I know I was a jerk before, but now I want to listen. I want to know what you have to say.” I caught a small smile creep up his lips.

“As much as I would like to tell you, I can’t right now.” I gave him a blank expression about to ask why, but he answered my question. “It isn’t safe here.”

“What do you mean?” He looked up into the sky and saw the moon. A full moon shone brightly through the woods. “Go home, Aimee. I’ll tell you everything in time just… not now.” All of a sudden a sharp howl filled my ears and made me cringe. I looked at Keegan and he was looking at me. He looked concerned.

“Listen Aimee, I want you to get as far away from here as possible. Now!” Another shrill howl met my ears.

“But what about-”

“I’ll be okay. Just please get out of here and run!” He cut me off answering my question. I didn’t know what to do; I was frozen to my spot. I noticed he closed the distance between us and placed a giant warm hand on my cold cheek. He stared into my eyes with those majestic purple eyes.

“Aimee, please go… for me.” I melted into his eyes and I suddenly felt the need to run. So I did. I ran and ran not knowing exactly where I was going. The loud shrill howls ricocheted through the thickening woods. I ran through thickets and thorns, the spike sticking me through my pants, but I still ran.

The howls have stopped and are now replaced by deep growls. I stop my frantic running and hold my chest as if I’m trying to keep my heart from exploding out of my chest. My breathing is fast and abnormal and the blood was pounding through my ears. I looked around curiously and I could see the creek I found when I spotted the giant black wolf in the darkness. Everything exactly as I remember it.

I hear twigs snapping behind me and I swallow hard. I was scared to turn around. Heart still pounding, I turn around. I can already tell by the thick black fur and bulkiness that it was the wolf in this very spot during school break. My heart thudded some more. Instead of his eyes being their electric blue pools of wonder, they were black as night. He crept closer to me and my heart stopped beating. This is it I thought, this is the day I die. I close my eyes waiting for him to tear me apart into tiny nothingness, until I don’t exist, but the impact doesn’t happen. A few minutes of constantly holding my breath, I let air rush in and out through my veins as I feel his warm breath blow onto my face. I open one eye at a time until I see him standing before me, staring.
