Give your readers a little appetizer before they feast on your story. Here's a bit of insider info: stories with descriptions get 100 times more reads than ones without.
Your description should give readers an idea of what your story is about—but no spoilers! Write a blurb that will hook your audience in, while leaving them wanting more. Try starting your description with some mysterious dialogue, or include a powerful quote.

You could even confront your readers with a life-altering question before diving into the plot. Something else we're really into is cliffhangers. Use this as an opportunity to entice your readers by luring them in without giving away too much.
