"I don't suppose you can put up a shield to protect our area of the ship?"
"A small one, enough to cover a pod. I couldn't cover all of us."
"Can Kami put one up?"
"I can tell her how." Baby Doll stopped as Kamikaze called her.
"Kerri, I need my Mom right now."
"Why what's wrong?"
"We got jumped and we couldn't fend them off. Our attacks didn't work. I've got two dead Commandoes and everyone else is injured badly."
"I, ah..." Baby Doll's eyes glanced at the map to check the route. Her eyes went wide in surprise. An unseen group of Harbingers were in the first pod.
"Sarin," she hissed. "Look."
Sarin looked at the map. "Neptune's rings, where'd the come from?"
"I don't know." Baby Doll switched back to Kamikaze. "You needed to get to the escape pod right now. You're only three pods away."
"We can't move," Kamikaze replied.
Baby Doll relayed the information to Sarin.
"We've got to do this now," Sarin replied. "You can get to them without having to follow the ship, right?"
"Go help them and hurry the other Commandoes. They're six pods away."
"But you need me to open the doors."
Sarin held up a crystal jacketed round. "This should punch through anything that gets in its way."
"Are you sure?"
Sarin pushed the bullet's tip into the floor leaving an impression. "It'll do just fine."
"Can you put all your rounds through the same hole?"
"I can put a bullet through the same hole at five miles."
"I hope you're as good as you say."
"Don't worry about me."
"What are you going to do once you blow up those pods?"
"With the directors on the rounds the sound shouldn't come this way. This area here," Sarin pointed to an area of pods, including the escape pod, that were on the shielded side. "We'll be safe. I'm hoping the rest of the ship, or at least a big part of it, will shatter. Once it's over you'll just have to come get me."
"If we become separated I have no idea how we're getting you back."
"You said each pod was its own ship. Can't we just dock them?"
"I hadn't thought of that," Baby Doll replied embarrassed.
"Then that's what we'll do. Now get going. I'll wait as long as possible. Here take this," Sarin flipped Baby Doll a small canister.
"A healing balm the Arconians use. It's good for healing most wounds."
Baby Doll slipped the container into her belt and changed into her Being form and vanished. Along the way she contacted Kamikaze and explained the plan.
"I need my Mom. Tig's hurt really badly."
"We're not going to get another shot straight into the center of the ship. I'm going to grab the Commandoes we sent to join you. They can help move them and then tend to their wounds."
"They might not have that long," Kamikaze protested.
"Then there's nothing we can do for them. Even if Jane left now she's ten minutes and forty Harbingers away."
