I gripped the stirring wheel taking out my rage on it. Who the hell was that? How did he know about those things? Everything he said was true about Non. What the hell was she doing there?
I took a deep breath to calm my nerves as I pulled into the driveway behind Non. I watched as she got out and walked up to the door. She stood on the porch waiting to see if I would follow. I really didn't want to fight with her.
I was actually happy I found her, some things never change. She went to the first place I had ever played in a band. It was called Hybrid, I left them and join another band, but Non went to that venue to see us play for the first time. I doubt she even remembers that, but I do. I did check some other places, but only the ones I knew would have live music.
I started to think of what could have happened if I hadn't been there in time. Like when I was too late with Rick. I got out of the car and walked up to her.
"Frank..." I cut off her words with my lips and pulled her body to mine. She wrapped her arms around me.
"Now when we go into this house we are going to sit down and talk. Not yell, not argue, just talk." I said breaking the kiss. She stood there her head tilted up and her eyes still closed. "Nonnie?"
"Hmmm?" she said without opening her eyes. I smiled.
"Stop playing, I was really worried about you," she looked at me.
"I'm a big girl..."
"I know you can take care of yourself, but that ring says its my job to do that." I stepped around her and opened the front door. Gerard sat on the couch remote control in hand.
"I haven't ..." he stopped when he saw her. "Okay that's my cue to leave." he said standing up. "And you young lady don't scare us like that again. I don't care if he was...doing unsightly things to her in your bed. You better at least call me." he hugged her and left. Non wasn't smiling at the thought of me doing anything with Trisha.
"Non I wasn't kissing her or doing anything else with her." I said, she looked down at her hands. "I fell asleep watching TV and when I woke up she was kissing me and then you tackled her off of me." She didn't look like she believed me. I walked over to her. "Nonnie Lynn Iero are you seriously not believing me?"
"The things she said you said..." she looked away.
"I thought I was with you that night. I mean I can clearly see that it wasn't you now, but even when I get little flashes of memories from that night, I only see you." I wrapped my arms around her. "I love you and I want to keep you safe from any and everything. Not her I could give a rats ass about her." She reached up and kissed me as if this kiss would tell her the truth and make everything right. We stood like that for a long time, just kissing. Me trying to prove myself and her looking for answers.
"Okay," she said. "Okay, I trust you." she smiled up at me.
"Good, now you wanna tell me how that guy knew about that spot behind your ear?" I said letting a little of my anger show.
I walked over to the couch and sat down. He wasn't going to like this explanation, but it was the truth. I took a deep breath.
"Frank do you remember right after I forgave you about Trisha and we went back into my room at Rachael's place," He nodded yes. "I said I didn't want any secrets to ruin this and then confessed about a guy I was with the night before..."
"That was him?" I nodded and waited for the next out burst. " How did you know he was going to be there?"
"I didn't I wasn't looking for him. I was looking for the...I don't know what I was looking for, but I was just listening to the music." I said as he sat down next to me. "Thank you for showing up when you did, he was really starting to scare me." I leaned onto his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around me.
