Darkness. That was the first thing I noticed. Then, the more I listened, I discovered the nothing. Nothing but darkness and silence. I struggled to open my eyes. A gruff male voice cut in through the silence. "Don't bother trying to open your eyes yet. You don't have any. I haven't had the chance to make you any." Who was this person? I heard him muttering to himself. "She...not supposed to wake...now it will hurt...eyes... powers developing already...why did she wake?" Most of his mumbling made no sense to me. My mind instantly filled with unanswered questions. What did he mean when he said that he made me? Why do I not have eyes? Who is he? Where am I? Suddenly pain filled my body, starting from where my eyes should be. It felt like I was being stabbed, over and over again. I was in excruciating pain, for what seemed like hours. At one point, the agonising pain became too much for me to handle, and I passed, my body occasionally twitching, trying to escape the excruciating pain.
