Twelve hours later, Kita was leaning against a bulkhead with Punishment in the angels training area on Base Station. Snowy was busy berating the gems on technique and tactics. The other trainers stood by looking as dower as ever.

"Diamond does live up to her name," Punishment commented. "Incredibly hardheaded and dazzlingly stupid."

"I am a little disappointed in the progress. But if anyone can crack them it'll be Snowy."

"If Ruby doesn't succeed in killing your cat first. You should have seen the look on her face when the two of you left. She was redder than her feathers. If you're interested in making her hotter my bed's available tonight..." Punishment finished seductively.

"You never stop trying, do you?"

"What can I say...You're one of my favorite conquests."

"Really? Is that all I am? And here I thought you loved me."

"I do. And who wouldn't want to relive old glories?" Punishment replied batting her long lashes.

"I don't see a flag sticking out of my ass," Kita replied with a touch of humor.

"You never let me get that far," Punishment replied with a lusty voice.

"Obviously with good reason," Kita laughed. "I'd hate to see what you'd do if I just let you have me."

"You ever seen the part where Santa unrolls his list and it goes down the hallway?" Punishment smiled wolfishly.

"You break me, you can't play with me."

"Luckily you're a god, so I don't have to worry about that."

"Oh, do you now?" Kita smiled.

"So, did you and Snowy get reacquainted last night?"

"Oh, yes. I gave her everything she needed to know about the gems. I helped her with a training plan. We talked about the crystal's properties, and what's worked and what hasn't. And what I've been doing for the last five years."

"That's it?" Punishment nudged.

"I did sleep with her for a few hours. And I mean just sleep."

"I wish I had walking, talking security blanket."

"More like a cuddly stuffed animal," Kita smiled.

"What's Ruby going to say?"

"I don't know and I don't care. She knows who Snowy is and what she is. She picked her side, I picked mine."

"Way to promote unity. I think you're just looking for an excuse."

"Maybe I am. Roo is not Snowy."

"I got the impression from Toxic Ruby was kind of a doppelganger."

"Maybe, I'll figure it out, if Snowy doesn't solve the problem and kill Ruby during training."

"Or you could have both," Punishment suggested with a sly grin.

"Definitely not. That's too much education to handle at once."

"So says the person who can see the universe for what it is and change it at her whim."

"Ok, I'm just not interested. And it's not like Snowy and I have had a functioning relationship in long time."

"But a dysfunctional relationship with Snowy is better than a functioning relationship with Roo?" Punishment asked as a man in a grey uniform walked up to them and saluted. "What is it Lieutenant?" She asked formally.
