"Wake up, Nathan."
Borgina's voice made Nathan open his eyes. He didn't realize he had fallen asleep. One moment he was waiting for Nurse Reese to walk in and the next, Borgina was waking him up.
"Even away from the planet, you still can't cheat nature."
"Thanks, Borgina." He said, rubbing his eyelids and sitting up.
"An announcement is coming through." She stated, adjusting the volume of the speakers in the apartment.
Shortly after, Colonel Ford's voice filtered through.
"Survivors of Earth, we have encountered ourgreatest threat yet. Two days ago, an alien warship was found within our protectedcolony. While the situation has been contained and the intruding alien lifeformdefeated, we have reason to believe more ships are on their way. It is ourresponsibility as the only hope of humanity to defend our colony. We mustensure our survival and claim our place within the universe. This means we willbe redirecting our efforts towards manufacturing weapons of defense. Every oneof you will undergo military training in order to increase the number of footsoldiers we currently have. When these alien warships arrive, we intend to givethem the biggest resistance they have ever encountered. We will blow them topieces and watch their remains drift into the vast nothingness of space. Newschedules have been uploaded to your virtual assistants and will be read to youat the end of this announcement. This is to allow for the changes required bythis new development. Please note that a time like this requires your totalcommitment. We will have zero tolerance for disobedience."
