I lay there on the couch bored out of my mind. For once both kids were sleeping at the same time. The house was clean and there was absolutely nothing for me to do. It didn't help that Frank was working in the studio down the hall. I would go bother him, but he didn't really get time to work on his own like he was much anymore and I didn't want to ruin that.
I wished that Danae was still here. She's been gone about three weeks now and she's found a new job and everything. We could find something to do. I wish Rachael was here too. She wouldn't let me be bored crazy like I was now. I really needed to make some new friends, outside of the band.
Maybe I should go back to work? No, I would hate being told what to do by someone else. Plus I wouldn't be able to find a job I liked. I picked up the remote control and started flipping channels. It was so frustrating that there wasn't anything on TV.
I was tempted to go wake up the kids. I quickly dismissed the idea, that would just mean more work. Frank came out of the studio with a huge smile on his face.
"Where is everybody?" he asked sitting rather close to me on the couch.
"They are both sleeping at the same time." I said proud of my accomplishment.
"How did you pull that off?" I shrugged my shoulders.
"I haven't the slightest clue." he started kissing down my neck, then moved onto my lips. I deepened the kiss as I leaned back letting his body cover mine. His hand made a trail down the middle of my neck. Then the doorbell rang. I heard both kids start crying. Frank got up then helped me up. I headed up to the nursery to comfort the children and he headed to the front door.
"This had better be good," I mumbled opening the front door. In front of me stood the one woman I thought I would never see again. "What...How..."
"Hello Frank," Trisha said. The mother of my son stood on my front steps looking like crap. Her clothes were dirty, and she smelled like an out house. Her hair looked matted and her skin looked pale. "I..."
"What the hell are you doing here? Why the hell did you leave our son on the front steps? Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?" So many questions were running through my mind, but I could only get out those three before she fell forward into my arms. I lifted her into my arms and stood there for a moment. I didn't know what to do with her.
"Frank babe who's..." Non came up beside me. "Is that...As if I could forget that face. What the hell is she doing here?" she asked me demandingly.
"I don't know I asked her the same thing before she passed out." Non scrunched up her nose.
"Frank she smells terrible." I stepped into the house and went to lay her down on the couch. "What are you doing?" she asked.
"Laying her down." I said.
"Oh no you are not going to stink up my couch..."
"So what do you want me to do with her?" she stood there quietly, unable to come up with a better idea. "Just until she wakes up then we can figure out what the hell she wants and send her on her way," the children started crying again.
"Fine, but she can't see Bradyn. She gave him up, and I don't want her anywhere near him."
"Okay." I had to agree with her. I didn't want her anywhere near our son either.
I walked back and forth in the hallway, holding Payton. Bradyn had fallen back to sleep. I couldn't help looking down over the railing at the girl sleeping on the couch. The girl who at one time was the sole reason I went on my last bender and here she was stinking up my couch. I could see how Frank could sleep with her, she was really pretty. I mean her skin was the color of caramel, she had long hair, and big boobs. Much bigger than mine, she was a little taller and she was skinnier than me. If she were clean right now I would be drooling over her and I'm straight as an arrow.
