Favourite song at the moment is on the side!

The waitress put our plates on the table; I murmured thanks before digging in. I hadn’t realised how hungry I was until now. I’d nearly finished the burger and fries when mike spoke,

“Somebody’s a little hungry.” he teased,

“Shut up! A growing girl has to eat.” I threw a fry towards him, he threw one back and before I knew it we were having a mini-food fight. But our fun was cut short as a familiar deep voice spoke,

“What’s going on here?” I looked up in surprise, it was Jay! I jumped up nearly knocking the table over and jumped into his arms. His familiar smell and feel enveloped my senses.

“I missed you.” I whispered into his ear, next time I wanted to go with him to his pack meetings. It was torture waiting at home for him,

“I missed you too.” I kissed him briefly before sitting down again. That’s when I realised that we had company; there were three guys and a girl sitting in our booth,

“Who are your friends?” Mike looked as puzzled as I was so I knew I couldn’t ask him any questions,

“Oh yeah, this is Andy, James, Joe and Eva. They might be joining our pack.” I took in their appearances, they all looked similar. Dark hair and dark eyes. The guys had the same bone structure and the girl looked like the type you didn’t want to mess with. I assumed they were all siblings.

“I’m Carmen, Jay’s mate.” I held out my hand for them to shake but no one did, I withdrew my hand awkwardly and placed it in my lap.

“So are you all brothers and sisters?” I asked trying to break the awkward tension but all I got was a nod. They obviously weren’t the talking type.

“So what were you and Mike doing?” Jay’s whole demeanour tensed,

“I just took her out for some breakfast because you weren’t there to do it.” Mike answered in a strained voice, I didn’t like where this was going,

“Didn’t look like breakfast to me.” Jay muttered in an acidic voice, I rubbed his leg in a soothing manner. Last thing we needed was him busting into his wolf in a public place, this might be a werewolf neighbourhood but it didn’t mean that humans didn’t come to Chico’s diner.

“Well it’s been nice meeting you but me and Jay have to go now. I’m sure Mike wouldn’t mind giving you a tour and whatnot.” I smiled uneasily at the four siblings and mouthed a see you later to Mike.

Once we were a considerable distance away from the diner Jay spoke,

“I don’t want you hanging out with Mike again.” I was stunned; who did he think he was ordering me around.
