Chapter 30: Home Sweet Home?

 We got in the car, getting ready to leave. Heather got into the drivers seat, and Martin Decided to call his doctor and stay home.

            Even though I didn't exactly "love" my  family, I was glad to finally get to go home. We were driving for what seemed to be hours, but then we finally stopped. Heather got out of the car, and opened the back seat door. Hurry get out, she whispered. 

I walked out of the car and looked around. I recognized the place. It was my school. Though it was the middle of the night, and there was absolutely no one there. 

"You had to take us here?" Jake asked getting out of the car. 

"Yes, I had to. You don't understand."  she stated, "I had to take you here, so your parents wouldn't question me. You can't say anything to anyone, about this, or me and Martin could both be sent to jail." 

Before either of us could speak, she got in the car and drove away. 

"Well Thanks," Jake said annoyed. "Now where do we go."

"Hey, at least we don't have to be tortured." I yelled at him.

He didn't say anything.

I walked over to the office widow and looked inside the window, and saw the television, that shows the Weather and other crap like that, and I saw the date. It was Wednesday, September 12, 2017. I had been gone for a little under two years, and today was my 16th birthday. 

"Happy birthday" Jake said behind me. 

"You know when my birthday was." I answered.

"Well Yah, He said, "Because it is my birthday too."

"Oh...." I said awkwardly.

We looked at each other. And knew, we were going to be friends.
