"ALEX!" I screamed. Her eyes were fading. "Why did she do this Nate?"

I was sobbing as I took her body into my arms.

"She found out," he said simply.

"It's my fault. It's my fault!" I yelled.

"Read the note," Nate said gently.

"No time!" I yelled. "We need to get to the hospital. Trust me!"

I crumpled the paper and shoved it in my pocket.

"Okay," Nate sighed. We picked her up and put her in my car. Nate drove and I sat sobbing in the passenger side.

We were at the hospital in no time and I ran inside.

"My girlfriend tried to commit suicide!" I yelled at the secretary. "She needs help!"

Nate came in, carrying Alex's limp body.

"Oh my!" the secretary exclaimed, calling in the ERs. Alex was taken away and wheeled out of my sight.

"It's all my fault Nate," I sobbed.

"No it's not," he said.

"Yes it is!" I argued.

"Uh, sir? Would you like to go into the private waiting room?" the secretary asked. Nate nodded and she brought us through the bland white halls. Finally we stopped at a secluded room that said 'Private' on the door.

"She'll be in the room next door...if...." The secretary excused herself and left us to our own devices.

"Alex," I whispered. I decided I'd read the note now.

"'You guys became my second family when my real family died. Thank you for being there for me, no matter what,'" I read. My breath caught in my throat.
"'Nate, I'll miss you so much. Your smile, laugh, and humor won't be forgotten.
Luke, your sweetness and kind heart will always be the two best things about you. I will miss you.
Louis, your humor and that mischievous twinkle in your eye made my day each time I saw it.
Henry, your cheekiness and overall great personality were what made you a phenomenal guy.
Katie, I don't know what to say except I'm sorry. I will be by your side forever, and we'll meet again one day, I promise.
And lastly, Zack.'" I cringed and Niall patted my back reassuringly.
"'Please don't feel like this is your fault. It's not. I was driving myself to this point eventually, I guess. Have a great life with Tess. I don't know what to say, or what you want me to say.
So I guess this is goodbye. I love you all so much and please, please, please don't forget it. I'll see you all one day.
-Alex'." I barely got the last part out before echoing into another chorus of sobs. Katie. I needed to call Katie and the lads.

I dialed Katie.

"Katie," I sobbed.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"It's Alex. Meet me at the hospital," I said hoarsely. She hung up. Then I called Henry. He'd be most likely to answer.

"Hullo?" he answered.

"Harry, meet me at the hospital with the others. Nate is here with me. It's Alex," I said, and he hung up as well.

"It's not your fault," Nate said again.

"Yes it is! 'I was driving myself to this eventually, I guess,'? She wasn't even in the suicidal ball park! Then she finds out and it's hell!" I burst. Then there was a knock on the door.

"C'mon in," Nate said.

In walked a pale Katie.

"What happened?" she asked.

"She was trying to commit suicide," I said, tears flowing down my cheeks.
Katie's face broke down and she started to cry.

"Why?" she asked, her voice no more than a hoarse whisper.

"I'm with Tess," I said guiltily.

"Zack..." Katie sighed, tears still pouring down her face.

"I know, you hate me!" I shouted. "Because I hate me too!"

"Yeah, I do hate you," she said, her voice cracking. I took out the suicide note and gave it to Katie.

"Read it," I said, shoving it in her hand.

She scanned over and burst into another fit of sobs.

There was another knock on the door and the other three lads came in. They all looked ghostly paled like Katie had.

"What happened?" Henry asked, his eyes misty. Luke's face was frantic, and Louis looked tired.

"Now that we're all here I guess I'll read it," Katie said, sobs still escaping her lips.
And lastly, Zack. Please don't feel like this is your fault. It's not. I was driving myself to this point eventually, I guess. Have a great life with Tess. I don't know what to say, or what you want me to say.
So I guess this is goodbye. I love you all so much and please, please, please don't forget it. I'll see you all one day.
Alex'."

Henry, Luke, and Louis's eyes all widened.

"She didn't...did she?" Luke asked.

"Yeah, she did," I replied quietly.

"IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" Katie finally sobbed. "I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

Me too.
