The dark room was illuminated by the flickering light of he fire in the fireplace. A sound of water dripping out of a faucet and into a sink echoed off the walls. The crackling of the fire never ceasing. On the couch in the little living space was a petite woman with long blonde locks. She was a tanned woman with ice blue eyes and a killer stare. She was the type of woman men killed for.
The front door creaked open and in walked a tall, even tanner man. He had short brown hair that was hidden underneath a hat which had 32 Bridge scrolled across it. He was dressed in a black leather jacket and skin tight jeans that were the shade of smokey grey. He had huge biceps and an appealing figure, the kind that drove women crazy. His face told people that he's been through a lot, but is still completely downright humble and kind.
The woman tapped her foot aggressively as the man walked into the house. The man stripped off his jacket and slowly walked towards the woman. "Hey, babe."
"Where the hell were you?" the woman asked, clearly angry, as it was evident in her voice.
The man was taken aback. "I was checking on a friend," he told her.
The woman grabbed his jacket and sniffed it. "Is that perfume I smell? I don't use that scent."
He rolled his eyes. "Well, that's obvious, because I buy you-"
"Shut it! You are a lying cheater!"
The man stood there, stunned. He would never cheat on his fiancée. Not now and not ever. Maybe if he explained, everything will work out? Yeah, it has to.
"Babe, I was just seeing a girl. She's got canc-"
The woman's eyes filled with tears. "You fucking dick! You slept with her!? I hope she was better than me, because we're through!" the woman slipped her engagement ring off and threw it at the man. It landed on the floor.
The man stared at it. She had cancer. The woman, his late wife's best friend, had been dying. She's gone now, and so is the love of his life. The woman ran up the stairs, a baby crying loudly and little girl asking if her daddy was home. He was her daddy. He was the baby's father too. Everything was falling apart.
He quickly picked up the ring, tears threatening to fall. Caroline and Luke 12/08/16. The date was suppose to be their wedding day. Now all this ring would be is a friendly reminder of a love story gone wrong.
And to top it all off, he had a son with that woman. What a great way to ruin each other's life. His baby, his love, both gone in the blink of an eye.
The man didn't even noticed his daughter until she had tugged on his jeans. She was a brilliant one and a half old girl. She had dark blue eyes and light brown hair. She looked so much like him.
"Daddy, can you read me a bedtime story?"
The man got down on his knees. He wiped his tears, slipped the ring in his pocket, and ruffled the girl's hair. "Daddy and Mommy aren't on good terms, Kelly. I have to go away for a little. I won't be ready to come home until Mommy kisses my owies better, like she does for you."
"Where do you hurt?" Kelly questioned her father, looking at him with sympathetic eyes.
The man tried to smile, but he couldn't. But, boy, did he wish he could. "My heart hurts. It hurts a lot."
Kelly kissed on the man's chest, where his heart was. "I love you, Daddy. Mommy does too. I will miss you."
The man gave his daughter one last hug before walking out of the house forever.
Caroline looked down at Bo as she wiped her tears. She didn't know what she did wrong. He said he loved her. She loved him too. But that's just the thing. It's loved not loves. Was Luke cheating on her because he had fallen out of love? Or, did he even love her at all?
Now, she was stuck with a broken family. Her son had lost his father and she was losing who she thought of as her daughter. Not only that, she was losing the man of her dreams.
Bo had Luke's eyes, and he had his hair. That hurt her, to see Luke in her son. She took a deep breath. She had to face it, it was over. He cheated. Simple as that. He had an affair.
Caroline laid Bo in his bed and, with a sigh, closed the door and walked down the stairs, where Kelly stood. Caroline's heart broke when she heard Kelly's silent cries.
"Hey, baby girl. What's wrong?" Caroline asked her, lifting the one-and-a-half-year-old up off the ground.
"Does Daddy still love me?" Kelly asked.
"What? Of course he does!" Caroline was shocked that she'd say such a thing. "Daddy loves you so much."
I just wish he loved me back, Caroline couldn't help but think.
"Then why did he leave?" Kelly quizzed.
Caroline sighed. "Daddy just made a mistake. He lost what he didn't know he had. He was just being foolish."
Luke cussed. "What the fuck is wrong with her!? I did not fucking cheat! I fucking love her!"
"Whoa, okay. Calm down, Luke," a man with black hair said. He was Luke's best friend, Carter. Or, Michael Carter that is. He played the lead guitar in Luke's band.
"What am I suppose to do? My fucking fiancée left me!? She's gonna find a new man soon! Urg! I hate it when I love hot people, they get stolen from me!" Luke shouted.
"She is pretty hot," Carter commented.
"God, I love her. I can't lose her, Carter. I didn't cheat, but, I don't know. I want to marry her."
Carter sighed. "Just find a new girl, Luke. Give up on her."
"Give up on her?! Are you fucking stupid?! She had my baby, I was engaged to her, and I fucking love her to death! You just don't get it. You've felt love like this."
