Chapter 27-2

Pagod akong tumihaya sa tabi niya. She too had her breathing ragged. I hugged her, kissed her temple before the words I unconsciously spoke came out of my mouth.

"Let's be a family."

I felt her body stiffened before she sat up. Ang akala ko ay aalis siya pero nakaupo lang siya habang nakatalikod sa'kin.

I sighed and touched her arm in an up and down motion before moving closer.

"Cat..."

"Alam mo ba kung anong sinasabi mo?"

"It means that I'm asking you to marry me and to be my wife. I'm asking you to stay here with me, live with me in our home, help me take care of the kids, face problems together, spend the rest of your life with me and don't ever leave us. That is what I mean." Niyakap ko siya mula sa likod at marahang dinampian ng ilang halik ang kanyang balikat.

Natatakot ako. Ayokong isipin na tatatanggihan niya ang alok ko. I'm afraid to see her walk out of this room and leave me so I held her closer. The heat of her body seemed so familiar. I felt the fast beating of her heart and I knew she also felt mine.

"Tama lang 'yon, diba? We have JJ and another angel on the way. Karapatan nilang magkaroon ng buong pamilya at gusto kong ibigay 'yon sa kanila. Alam ko bago sa'yo 'to but I can give you the thing that you once thought you can't have. A family. It's yours if you say yes." Tinangka niyang kalasin ang aking mga kamay pero hinigpitan ko lang ito. "Please, baby."

Hindi siya sumagot at tumahimik habang ako ay nakikiramdam lang. The quiet air made me more nervous in every second.

"I have done things, Aiden, horrible, unforgivable things."

"Alam ko na 'yan. Alam kong hindi ko na mababago 'yan sa'yo. It's part of who you are. Isa pa, not everything is unforgivable but can be accepted and I accept that. I accept you."

"I ordered an all-out massacre. I killed almost two hundred people last month-women included that wiped out Saari's empire after killing him in front of his surviving men. Worst, I risked my unborn baby's health. Ngayon sabihin mo sa'kin, katanggap tanggap ba 'yon?"

Ngayon, ako naman ang natigilan.

Wow! I never expected that one. Pumatay oo pero ang all-out massacre? That's big!

"Hindi dahil nabuntis mo ko sa pangalawang beses ay kasal na ang kahahantungan. Some things are too cruel to be accepted and too good to be experienced. I live with those thing."

Every word was like a stabbed on my heart. Hindi ko alam na masasaktan ako ng ganito. How could she said those words?

My hold on her loosened. Ginawa niya 'tong paraan para tanggalin ang pagkakapulupot ng mga braso ko bago pumihit paharap sa'kin. Suddenly, I felt cold and missed her warmth immediately before her left hand reached for my face and caressed it.

"Ang tanging bagay na dapat mong tanggapin ay hindi ako bagay sa buhay na sinasabi mo. I'm different. Find a woman like Xallea and let me go."

Bumaba ang kamay niya pero kinuha ko ito at mahigpit na hinawakan.

"No I won't. I can accept everything there is for you to offer. Don't ever say that you didn't deserve some good because that's like saying that JJ and the baby in here shouldn't be even alive." I said while rubbing the slight bump of her stomach carefully.

"Maybe you thought that you don't deserve them because you got tired of waiting for so long. But it's coming your way, Cat and good things will keep happening and we could begin together. Hindi ko maipapangakong maibibigay ko ang lahat pero sisiguraduhin kong mapapasaya kita. Just accept me like I accept you."
