The Night Witch licked her lips as she assessed the magnificent, barely clothed being in front of her.

Her long-awaited slave.

His hands were chained to the ceiling with an enchantment that she'd used to secure his imprisonment; one that she hadn't used in a long time. And though his purpose under her thumb was quite significant and delightful as much as his pleasant physique, he wasn't the one who constantly invaded her thoughts.

And if she had any dreams, Reina was certain that they'd be enraptured with explicit memories of him too.

Turning away from the battered man, Reina moved towards a broken crib which had been dumped in a corner of the small dark cell, positioned just before the metal bars. When she was not more than a metre away from the old wooden structure, Reina leaned in and grabbed a hold of the only material within the crib: a baby's blanket.

Almost as if it were a delicate jewel, the Night Witch raised the soft material and brought it close to her nose, sniffing it and closing her eyes as the scent of the babe - and him - wafted across her nostrils.

Her heart skipped a beat when a reminisce of how he had held her, caressed his hand along her bareback whilst he'd made frantic love to her invaded her mind for just a second.

Reina tried to squelch her reaction, but the shadows snaking across her nude form felt her shiver in desire. And not long after, they began to taunt her with their snake-like voices as they slithered around her ears and hissed in them.

Best you forget him.

Et Kar will never let you go.

You're his witch, no one else's.

Yes, yes, no one else's.

He'll punish you if he finds out you're still thinking about that peasant.

Best you forget him, witch.

You're his forever.

Et Kar will never let you go.

Dismissing the smug whispers the shadows hissed at her with a frustrated sigh, Reina clutched the small blanket in her grasp before turning back to the man hanging unconscious from the cemented ceiling.

I will have my freedom, she thought with a secret grin. She'd been waiting years for this moment so there was no way she'd allow those pesky shadows to get to her this time.

Sauntering over to the werewolf's beat-up form, Reina lifted her free hand to trace a long, sharp black nail from his sweaty abdomen to the centre of his chest.

"Rise and shine, darling." The Night Witch smirked, the familiar pleasurable feel of excitement sizzling uncontrollably as she began to set her plan in motion.

"You have a job to do."

Hola mis lectores! What d'you think so far? Think it's mysterious enough to read on?😏

Anyhow, in the first chapter - which will be the next one - I'll be switching POVs and will move to first person singular for Lena's sake. So watch out!

Thanks so much for reading this prologue!😙
