Raging Flames

Fire Storm

Two men set off on a journey to find new species and new islands, but that was only a dream. They lived in South Australia, the two men never ask what each other's name was. They also didn't earn much money because of the shops, the shops sold their products to them too cheap the farmers could barely feed the farm animals and themselves.

One blistering hot day, in summer it was the hottest it's had ever been then suddenly as they were feeding the animals the food they had left on the dry dead grass set an alight and spun in a circle formation like a small tornado made out of flames, the horses were spooked and Jump strait over the fence one of the farmers got hit in the head by its hove and knocked out, the other farmer reached over and pulled him under cover he opened the emergency bunker, after the smoke cleared they open the door ash barged in they were haunted to see the skeletons of their animals the skeletons still sizzling from the blazing fire .Then a skeleton as black as coal fell inside it was there dog, buster, They were shocked the site trembled their bones.

They crawled out shaking in fear, pupils as wide as marbles caused by all the adrenaline, they called the CFA. But by the time they had called them a huge fire started consuming more and more farmland and grew larger and larger as it engulfed the eucalyptus trees the fire spread tree by tree.The CFA trucks came in with their sirens blasting out noise like a screaming bird, but as they went to drive over were the two men were hiding, their tires had melted to the field of black smoke and the hot earth their melted tires looked like tar on a road of a hot day. The firemen and the fire trucks were surrounded by boiling rubber. Then suddenly a burnt tree fell over right on top of the bunker where the two men were hiding, they were trapped! Then the light in the men's bunker light flashed a few times then switched off, the only thing they could see is the glow of the outer fire. The Two men were Terrified they could hear helicopters and planes and luckily they were the fire department was able to rescue them, the men were thrilled with the thought of those planes and helicopters rescued them also, the fire department was extremely joyful when the planes and helicopters sprained the pink mist it was the happiest day of their lives. They may have been covered in suite and ash, but at least they knew they were OK and safe, a helicopter came in and reeled them up from the black earth below.  

  As they were flying to the nearest hospital, which was just on the other side of the forest. The rescue helicopter blades starting jamming up, then the blades stopped completely, the helicopter started spiral the helicopter driver grabbed the two para-shoots but before they could put it on the two men the two men flung out of the helicopter, one of the two men just grabbed the para-shoot. They spread out their arms and both grabbed the para-shoot, then they pulled the string of the para-shoot, the para-shoot, shot out, and slowed them down a heck of a lot but it had dislocated his left shoulder, he scream's in pain. The other man screams in horror to see his best friend in such pain. When they landed on the ground it was like a huge forest of eucalyptus trees , he said for the first time in his life, he asked what was his name , when he spoke he spoke in a soft a calming tone what is your name the other man just clawed into the ground because of the sharp pain in his shoulder than in a jittery tone he spoke my name is John, the other farmer was shocked, his dog was named that the very dog that died in the horrific fire, his heart ponds harder than a steam engine then a small tear runs down his cheek the tear ran down and off his face it landed on the huge stone, John was resting on.  

They both stiffened to hear the slither of a western brown snake, they both stare at the snake, then the snake starts to come towards, then they stay as still as possible.Then they look down where their legs were, there were snakes eggs just under their legs, the snake starts to curve up and make an S shape with its body it coils up ready to strike, its coiled body launches outward they both lean to their left and right, the snakes fangs get wedged into the tree behind them .They both sighed in relief. John asked what the other farmer's name is and he spoke he said my name is Michel, Michel said to John this will hurt a heck of a lot, but don't worry I used to be a doctor and I've done this plenty of times. Michel grabs his dislocated arms and pushes it back in, John screams so hard it frightened Michel a little, his arm gets back in position, and John is breathing deeply.

  The clouds start to turn dark and thick, they both hear thunder in the distance, they start to walk around to gather resources, John finds an old tarp and Michel finds some tall sticks and some tar ,Michel grabs a large stick and wraps a cloth around it and covers it in tar to use as a torch they both make a tent out of the materials that they find, one hour of setting up and get the materials to fix up the tent if need be .They find a small river and carry some stones, for the fire just in front of their tent, they make a circle with the stones and put kindling, small stick and the bigger stick in the center of it.They made a fire with a small hole in a piece of wood, and with the string that they made from tree bark twisted up Michel swished side to side a few tries later they had finally got fire, they threw it in the center the fire swooshed up. The torches tip went up in flames. They planted it a safe distance away from the tent, and they both slept like a log.  

  When they woke up they were shaking in fear to see, a new bushfire started to form it started just as a small flare from their fire onto the dry and lifeless grass, to a huge raging fire they both tried to run straight ahead but they were surrounded by blazing hot flames engulfing the landscape around them. Then they just wiped their sweat all over their body to give them just a small amount of protection then they sprinted through the flames, they just make it then they release their clothes are on fire so they tuck and role smothering themselves in the orange dirt.They put out the flames on their clothes, they both sigh in relief. John and Michel started to walk to the hospital they look at the hospital from a distance it was abandoned, when they got there the building was quiet and dark and there was nothing there but an old ambulance. They looked inside but all the metal inside was rusted and cut, the tires were flat and rotted.John brushed his hand through his hair, and down his neck at the same time blew out a mild breath, just strong enough to blow the finest sand away. They both stiffened to hear, the light but the unsettling sound of a snake slowly slithering, and to see a snake squeezing through a small hole in a pile of rocks, each stone close to the size of a wombat.  What came out was a small but deadly snake the Fierce snake or also known as the inland taipan, they are one of the most poisonous snakes in the world, the snake saw them and slowly went back into its small hole, and both John and Michel let out a huge sigh of relief. They kept moving slowly but steadily through the hot baking sun, Michel fainted and fell into the hot rough sand, John quickly leaped to him trying to get him awake, but there was no point Michel was extremely dehydrated. John put Michel over his two shoulders, still a bit sow from when his dislocated it but, he was determined to get them both to civilisation, then John started to fell dizzy he tried to shake it off but the sun was too much he fell straight into the red dirt just as red as the blazing firestorm that engulfed their farm along with all their animals. John and Michel both woke up to hear the beeps from a machine, they both looked at each other and smiled their first smiles in a long time.
