Chapter 2

"Oliver!" Something slammed down on my desk making me jump up.

"Why are you sleeping in my class?" The teacher glared.

"Because I'm tired. Why else would I be sleeping?"

"Fall asleep again and I'll write you up." She threatened before going back to teaching and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay class, we are going to do a project," Everyone groaned, " It will be done in partners." Everyone cheered.

"But, I chose your partners for you." Everyone groaned again.

She always puts you with people you hate.

"Alex and Katherine, Austyn and Stephen, Jane and Xavier, Oliver and Mckenzie-" She listed more names but I stopped listening.

She put me with that Mckenzie bitch! Ugh! No one likes her, including me.

When everyone starts moving around the classroom, Mckenzie strutted over and sat down in the desk in front of me.

Why did she ever bother putting on a shirt? Her boobs are practically hanging out.

Mrs. Johnson explained the project but I was busy subtly staring at Austyn.

His partner said something that caused Austyn to laugh.

I need to change partners. I want to be with Austyn. I need an excuse to be around him.

When Mrs. Johnson sat down at her desk, I walked over to her.

"What is it Drefton?" She sighed and looked away from her computer.

"I have an issue with my partner."

"And what's the issue? Mckenzie is a fine young lady." She stated and I scoffed.

"Yeah whatever. I would like to change partners."

"And who would you like to have instead?"

"You're actually going to do it?" I asked surprised. It's never been this easy to persuade her into something!

"No. I just want to know who is supposedly better."

"Austyn." She opened her mouth but I cut her off. "Just listen to me for once. He's smart and could be a good influence on me."

She rolled her eyes.

"If you let me change partners, I'll stop being late and sleeping in your class. I'll even attempt to do my homework."

Mrs. Johnson cocked a brow.

"Fine, I'll do my homework. Is that good enough for you?"

"I'm only doing this because I want you to do better in my class."

"Austyn, can I see you for a minute?" She called him and I smiled gratefully.

"Thank you." I whispered to her as Austyn walked up.

"Yes Mrs. Johnson?"

"Sorry for the sudden change but I think it will be better if you worked with Oliver. He needs a better influence and I think you'll be better than Mckenzie will be. Is that alright with you."

"Sure, I'll go get my things." Austyn nodded.

I went back to my seat and sat down.

"Bye bitch. You've been replaced. Go find your new partner."

She glared and stomped away just in time for Austyn to walk over and sit down.
