Jealousy (ch. 21)

I sat on the couch with my laptop, finished with my homework and bored out of my mind. There wasn't any cleaning to do since I basically clean everyday and between only two people in a huge place we can only make so much of a mess. I sigh to myself and decide I was going to grab Connor and I some lunch and bring it to him so we can spend it together, even if I just had to sit to the side as he does his work. It's better than doing nothing and at least I wouldn't be alone.

On the way there I stop by a local deli and grab some pre-made club sandwiches and chips. Then as I walk into the building I see Zoe at the front desk looking cute as can be. She was talking to someone on her headset as I walked towards her, as I got closer she finally noticed me and her smile grew big. Quickly she got off the line with whomever she was talking to to speak to me. "Troye! I haven't seen you in so long how are you!?" She said as she stood up on her side of the desk. I leaned over and gave her a small hug.

"I'm pretty good. Just school and chilling at home being bored as ever." I say with a small laugh.

"Well you could always text me you know, I am your friend you know!" She said with a fake angry look.

"I know I'm sorry I've meant to I just.... I don't know." I said with uncertainty. How was I supposed to say that me and Connor were going through a rough patch and I didn't want to bring her down with my depressive attitude.

Zoe made some sort of expression but completely wiped it away a split second later. "Hm. Well we're definitely hanging out this week. We need to catch up!"

After that we made plans to hangout at her place to watch movies and eat junk food. I would have offered my place but I knew she would insist on seeing the playroom and I'm just not ready to be showing my friends where my Dom and I like to do kinky shit to get off.

We said our goodbyes and I made my way up the elevator. Once I got to the top floor I immediately notice the attractive young man sitting in the desk where I once sat. Eyeing him as I made my way closer to Connor's closed door the man finally made eye contact with me.

"Oh, hello. If you're here to see Connor he's in the middle of something right now. If you want to take a seat and wait you're more than welcome to and I'll let him know you're here. What's your name again?" He asked in his stupid peppy voice.

"Troye. I'm his boyfriend." I said a little harsher than I should have as I sat down on one of the couches. I couldn't help it - I was jealous. Immediately my mind starts wandering to places and I can't help but feel even more angry. So this was the guy who Connor gets to spend all his time with as he leaves me at home alone. Was this guy the reason why Connor is coming home late at night for the past few months? It can't be a coincidence that this guy is good looking - way better looking than myself and he doesn't even know who I am. I was basically told I was hired based on the fact that he wanted me, what if this is the same sort of situation?

I had to calm myself down and take a few breaths. He has made it very clear that he wants to be with e and nobody but me. Perhaps he hired this man based on his experience and has nothing to do with what he looks like. Yeah that's probably it.

As much as I keep telling myself that it still isn't really registering and now I'm pissed.

"Oh. Okay yeah he should be done shortly."

I nod and take out my phone to scroll on facebook and other social media in the meantime. Definitely not in the mood for him to try and make small-talk.

Eventually the door opens and my eyes glance up to find Tyler walking out of Connor's office. Great, of course with my luck I run into him only a few short days after him coming over and talking about all that bullshit of wanting to be my Dom.
