I looked up to see Liam leaning against the door frame. He was watching me intently.
"What's that look for?" I giggled, walking over and kissing him on the cheek.
"I want to take you out to dinner, 7pm. Wear something nice." He winked and left the room, adjusting his tie.
I shrugged, not quite sure why he was acting all weird about a dinner. At the same time I was rather disappointed that I couldn't spend the whole day with Harry.
I was getting ready to meet him, I smiled at the thought of his reckless brown hair and bright radioactive eyes. He was starting to invade my thoughts permanently. All I wanted to do was grab him and kiss him, fiercely.
I thought about the way he was clumsy and unpredictable, the things he would come out with that made sense in his mind but I found hilarious. We were different and different was good, it was refreshing.
I chucked on a jacket and raced downstairs and out of the door before anything could stop me.
"So, how's the boyfriend?" Harry asked, wincing like it caused him pain. We were sitting up on a wall, overlooking the town. It was peaceful.
I sighed. "Liam is fine, I guess. I have to go to dinner with him tonight." I rolled my eyes, hating the fact I would have to leave Harry.
"You don't have to do anything you don't want to." Harry said quietly, letting go of my hand.
"Harry, please. This isn't easy for me." I pleaded with him, grabbing his hand back.
"Okay." He whispered, wrapping his arm around me and pulling me into a hug. I snuggled in, this felt absolutely right.
"Tell me about yourself, Harry."
He laughed. "Not much to tell. I have a younger brother who's incredibly annoying but I do love him. Back at my mum's house we have a dog, Oscar who is the love of my life." He teased, making me pout. "Both of my parents are lovely and supportive, I wish I could introduce you." He smiled a sad smile.
"I tried the whole university thing but it wasn't for me," he shrugged, "-I don't know what I'm going to do with my life but right now, I'm happy."
I smiled at him. "So am I."
I was late. To the dinner Liam had asked me to. I was racing back home to change at 7:15. I was just having so much fun in Harry's company.
"Mum! I'm home." I shouted, flinging the door open.
"Now, Blair. You're late!" She tutted, "Where were you?"
"I had errands to run." I said quickly and ran upstairs.
"I have nothing to wear." I whined, frantically flicking through my cupboard.
Then I span around and spotted a gift bag on the bed. I smiled walking over to it. I reached inside and pulled out a silky, pink dress that had beautiful embroidery on it. The material felt supple and smooth in my hands.
There was also a box in the bag, I opened it to find a beautiful pearl necklace, I gasped in delight. I quickly changed into the dress, wearing flat shoes and I placed the necklace on, admiring it from every angle in the mirror.
I walked downstairs, feeling like a princess.
"You look beautiful, sweetheart." She smiled. "The cars waiting outside."
I nodded, kissing her goodbye. She had a giddy look in her eye that I was slightly confused about. What was so special about this dinner?
"Hello, gorgeous." Liam said, once we were at the fancy restaurant. I grinned, he was looking very cleaned up too, in a smart suit.
The food was way up there on the list of food that was too fancy for me to actually enjoy. I stabbed at the weird looking vegetables on my plate and started to day dream about the cottage pie my mum had cooked at home. Personally, I was the type of girl happy to spend five pounds on a cheap burger with onions and gherkins and lethal oozing out of it. Really expensive and fancy meals were just not my thing.
"Blair." Liam said, making me jump a little at the urgency in his voice.
"Yes, love?" I smiled.
"I-I just wanted to tell you-" he stuttered, nervously.
I blinked, Liam never hesitated.
He grabbed my hands, gently holding them in his own.
"I am in love with you. From the very first day I laid my eyes on you, the whole world erupted into colour almost making me dizzy and the only thing I could focus on was the soft, honey colour of your eyes. They warmed me up like coffee in the morning, I look into them and I see the future. Our future." He smiles, his voice shaky with emotion.
I stand up to tell him this is all wrong, I stand up to come clean about Harry and my colourblindness but then he drops to one knee.
He pulls out a velvet box with the prettiest ring I have ever seen.
"Blair, will you marry me?"
