Chapter One

The Joys of High School

Welcome to Rams High, where your confidence drops as fast as a cheerleader dropping to blowjob a jock.

A tad bit harsh, right?

High school is the stage in a teenager’s life where you either become the person you want to be, or who others want you to be. What matters aren’t the numbers on your report card, but the amount of people sitting around you at lunch. Not the scholarships, but the invitations to parties. You base your life according to the system. You follow the rules and stay in your place. If not, everything falls apart.

I am Chloe Foster and this is my story. The story of how I fell apart. Let me warn you first hand, I’m not the kind of girl you should fall in love with.

                                                                          *

"Please Chloe, please! I don’t want to go alone. Please! Besides, it’ll be real quick. We’ll pop in, look around and come back."

I stopped walking and sighed.

Beside me Leela smiled, "Is that a yes then?"

I groaned and continued walking towards my locker, "Leela if you really want to go ask Ethan, he'll be happy to see the cheerleaders in shorts." My voice had gotten louder than intended, which made one of the neighboring teachers open their door.

"Miss, Foster,” she scolded me, “lower your voice! This is a school not some kind of zoo!" She closed the door behind her, just as I flipped her off.

"Party pooper," whispered Leela, her arms were crossed over her chest, her expression set in a way that made her chocolate brown eyes bigger than usual.

As I knew I would in the end, I grabbed her hand and strolled down the corridor towards the gym.

"You owe me Connard," I told her as I deliberately opened the boys changing room doors.

The stench of sweat and trainers mixed with the smell of shampoo and deodorant was able to make me flinch backwards.

"You owe me big time," I repeated as I made our way through the slimy piles of dirty clothes and soaked towels.

She scampered away; smiling shyly as she searched for god knows which guy that had sparked her interest this time.

Leela was a good girl, everybody knew that. What they couldn’t understand was why she’d tag along with me. We’d been best friends since first grade, and this idea challenged the simple minds of the school’s population.

I was resting against the wall, near the door incase we’d have to make a quick escape. I heard her giggle at whatever a tall guy was telling her as he pulled his shirt on. I could have lived without seeing his lanky body.

“Chloe Foster?”

More than the tone of surprise and bewilderment, it was the faint amusement what made me turn around and face the shirtless guy watching me.

“Are you lost?” he asked again, not bothering to hide his amusement this time.

I ignored him.

“Dylan, man! Stop harassing her, she’s clearly not interested in you.” A dressed blonde guy stood up, duffel bag in hand.

“She’s not interested yet, Scott,” amended Dylan.

A smirk appeared on my face. I turned around to face him, "I’m interested in dicks Miller. Sadly, yours doesn't meet the standards.”
