Chapter 2: Different

I woke up to the familiar people.

"Fire, thank god your okay." said my brother? Who embraced me in a hug.

"But, your dead." I said in confusion

"No, I'm not fire...are you okay or did you hit your head a bit to hard." he says

I frown, I start to get up but suddenly a pain erupts in my head.

"Agh- what the hell happened? Where are we?" I started to question.

"Fire, your joking, we're in Woodbury. Remember, the governor saved us." says Joel

"And wher-" I stopped immediately, the Woodbury thing finally processed in my head.

We lived with the governor

"Fire! Where are you going?" asked my brother as he basically ran behind me.

"I'm leaving. I can not be in there. They're bad people." I say repeatedly.

"What do you mean? They saved us." says Joel

"They didn't do it for you. He's a bad guy Joel and I recommend you leave just like I am or else you'll-you'll" suddenly everything was consumed by darkness and I had no idea what had just happened.

When I woke up I saw my brother in front of me again.

"Fire, you okay?" asked Joel as he moved the hair out of my face.

I couldn't help but role my eyes.
"I'm perfectly fine besides the fact that I passed out." I said angrily as I turned away from him but that didn't stop him from talking.

"Fire, you can't go. This is a safe place. We can start fresh here." says Joel.

"Maybe you can but I can't. I'm going to leave, wether you like it or not." I said as I pulled the blanket closer to me.

I could hear my brother groan in frustration, then the door Suddenly slammed.

After that all I could hear whispers.

"Leave at least one guard out here- she's trying to leave."

That was all I heard, but whatever they were planning, it wasn't going to stop me from leaving and escaping. Hey, maybe I might even die in the process but it's better than staying here at this dump.

I started getting up when my brother came in.

"Hey where are you going?" asked my brother.

"I'm hungry. Can I not go eat," I said angrily "or am I not allowed to do that either." I added as I looked at him.

For some reason my head no longer hurt and I felt better.

"Hey, quite with the attitude. I just wanna help." said my brother who's anger was also boiling.

"Well if you wanted to help me then let me go!" I said loudly as I started to walk towards the door.

"No!" eyed my brother as he grabbed my shoulder forcefully and threw me back.

I felt myself grow in shock. My dad had always done that. He always hit me.

"Your not my brother." I spat, venom lacing my words as I sent my elbow to my brothers face quickly, causing him to fall unconscious.

I shook my head down at my brother and took the gun and knife he had in the holester. I then took the backpack I had packed a while ago.

This was it. I'd leave now or never get the chance to again.

I could hear whispering behind the door, in front of my room.

I bit my bottom lip, an idea hit my head.

"Joel!" I yelled, my voice, laced in fake fear.

I could hear them start to unlock the door. I hid beside the door frame so they couldn't see me.

The first guy walked in and I quickly took him from behind and slit his throat easily but the guy behind me grabbed me after.

"Let me g-" I was cut off when I saw who it was.

"Wyatt!" I said happily as I threw my hands around him.

"Fire.." he breathed.

I pulled away and looked at him.
"What's wrong?" I asked

Wyatt looked away.
"They have two captives.." said Wyatt "I think their names are Maggie and Glenn." says Wyatt

I felt myself clutch my fists.
"We to save them." I said quickly.

"Why?" asked Wyatt confused

"Wyatt, just trust me on this." I said as I took the gun of the guy I killed. I put my blade through his head.

"Come on." I said as I walked out the door and towards the direction Wyatt pointed out.
