A small girl sat alone on the swings awaiting her best friend. A little boy slowly walks up behind her and covers her eyes. She giggles. "Guess who?" He laughs.

"Adrien, I know it's you." She laughs and hugs her best friend.

"I missed you Mari." Adrien smiles sadly hugging her back.

"Where were you? I missed you too." Marinette says holding him tighter.

"My dad had me do photoshoots in Paris. And I'm going to be moving there in a week. I don't want to leave you here though." Adrien says tears falling on his face.

"Oh. I don't want you to leave, but if you have to then I'm gonna miss you a lot." Mari smiles tear falling on her face too.

"Adrien! We're leaving." A tall man says, pulling him and Marinette apart. The two waved goodbye with tears streaming down their faces.
A few years later

Marinette's parents had recently made the move to Paris, France. They wanted to start up their bakery here. Marinette is now fourteen and was excited to see all the sights. She isn't excited to meet new kids, considering how most kids didn't like her to much. She was very unpopular and clumsy, and that didn't mix well when trying to make new friends. Marinette quietly made her way to school afraid of what the day will bring. She entered the gymnasium and all eyes were on her. She was hoping to go unnoticed, all kids moved away from her as she walked towards them. Marinette felt more upset, these kids didn't even know her and they are avoiding her.

Marinette went and sat on a bench that a group of kids evacuated when they saw her walking towards them. She sighed and looked at the ground, she heard some footsteps but paid no attention. "Hey. Why do you look so sad?" A voice asked.

Marinette looks up to see a tall, blonde haired, green eyed boy. "Uh... it's first day here and all the kids are avoiding me. And giving me these looks."

"Yeah, that's because one of the popular girls said that they know the new girl and that the girl was the rudest person, she ever met. But I personally don't believe her, because you seem quite kind, shy, and good hearted." The boy smiles, "my name is Adrien Agreste."

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng. It's nice to meet you. Thanks for wanting to know me." Marinette smiles at him. Adrien seemed shocked when Marinette said her name. His facial expression stayed in the 'surprised' expression until Marinette slightly pushes him and he falls to the ground.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't know you would fall. Are you okay?" Marinette asked holding out her hand.

"I'm fine, and it's okay... did you say your name was Marinette Dupain-Cheng?" Adrien asked hopefully. His childhood best friend is standing right in front of him. The girl he still had photos of from when they were little. Marinette nods her head. Adrien laughs.

"What?" Marinette asked confused. She didn't entirely remember her old friend. She remembers his name was Adrien but didn't remember what he looked like or anything like that. She had no photos of him and her together, she just has one of two dolls that her mom made for them. The dolls were of superheroes they created named Ladybug and Chat Noir. Marinette had the Ladybug one.

"I thought I'd never see you again, is all. But here you are." Adrien smiles brightly.

"I'm sorry. What? We know each other?"

"Yeah. Don't you remember our adventures with Ladybug and Chat Noir? How we'd help them defeat the evil villain Hawkmoth?" Adrien says with worry in his voice. Marinette's eyes widen and a smile appears on her face. She laughs and wraps her arms around his neck. He wraps his arms around her back.

"I've missed you so much!" Marinette says with tears rolling down her cheeks. Adrien pulls away a little but still has his arms around her. He takes one hand and wipes away her tears.

"I've missed you too! I'm glad I finally got my Mari back though." Adrien smiles. Marinette blushes at the old nickname. Adrien promises to show Marinette around all day.

As the day progresses, Marinette has had all classes with Adrien. People keep giving them weird looks because the nicest boy at school is hanging out with the rumoured to be rudest girl at school. Marinette has talked to Adrien's two other friends, Alya and Nino, they seem to like her rather well.

Adrien looked over Marinette's schedule again. "I don't have last class with you." He frowns.

Alya grabs the schedule and reads over it. "Lucky enough for her, she has last class with me. Even more luckily there's an empty seat next to me." Marinette smiles at her.

"I thought that Lila sat next to you?" Nino said.

"Oh she did. But when she saw me with Marinette, Lila told me that she wanted to be no where near me, so that means my new best friend Marinette can have Lila's seat. I'm sure she can find somewhere else to sit." Alya smiles. Marinette gives an uneasy smile. Marinette really didn't want to cause problems but it seems that she already has.
