I jump back startled.
"Jumping to conclusions isn't smart" I say.
He smiles.
"Ah..." He says nodding.
"You had your head over the window of a car with no driver, that's pretty suspicious" He says.
"Sorry, I was just looking to see if the owner was inside" I say feeling bad.
He walks to the drivers side and steps in. I look at him speechless. What is he doing?
"What are you doing?" I say.
"Stealing the car" He replies. I gasp and he starts laughing.
"If driving off your own car counts as stealing then yes I'm doing just that," He says and I notice his clothing. It's the same color as Reid said. He jingles the key in front of me and I chuckle shaking my head.
"There it is" He says.
"What?" I ask.
"Your smile, it was missing" He says, I smile warmly.
"Hop in partner" He says. I open the passenger door and get in. We both put on our seatbelts. Something Reid didn't do.
"So where to?" He asks.
"Greece hall" I answer.
He starts the car and as we drive off I turn and take one last look at the haunted house. I notice a silhouette watching us leave that seemed close to that of Lexis but shake the thought out of my head. Why would he be watching us?
"So what are you studying?" He asks.
"Biology with emphasis in health and medical science," I say proudly. It was one thing that truly made me proud.
"Medicine, what are you planning to be?" He asks.
"A cardiovascular surgeon" I say.
"That's pretty cool! Heart and lungs" He says.
I stare at him in shock and he glances my way.
"What?" He says.
"How'd you know?" I say and quickly add.
"I'm sorry it's just Reid's friends..." I start.
"Don't look smart? Looks can be deceiving you know, and being judgemental isn't nice," He says.
"Just as you assumed I was a thief" I say smiling.
"Exactly! But Reid and I....we are not friends." He says just as we drive in front of Greece hall. I badly want to ask why and know more but we've arrived and I just met him. I didn't want to pry though I did want to know why.
"Thank you" I say as I get out.
"It's Nathan, " he says
"What?" I say turning back.
"My name, It's Nathan" he calls out and drives off before I can give mine. I wrap my arms around myself and walk in.
After preparing for the night and watching two random episodes of One tree hill prior to Lucas and Peyton leaving I shut off the lights and close my eyes to sleep. Getting drowsy I hear the door open. Assuming it's Jessica I close my eyes back when something crashes. I jump up turning my bedside lamp to the sight of Lexis standing next to shattered glass shards on the ground one eyebrow up.
