Chapter 6: Oh my goodness!! It's happening!

  I took a moment then turned and dashed for the stairs to the second floor, holding a hand over my face the whole time, "D-DON'T LOOK AT ME!" I yelled. I could hear him behind me in the kitchen, mumbling to himself, incoherent words. I ran up the stairs and into the first room on the left, my room. I slid down the door and sat on the floor, "Damnit..." My face was red with anger, anger at myself. How stupid can I be!? My father had told me, and I remembered every word, "Don't let anyone know about you being partly demon. If anyone finds out I'll be hunted down and locked away for being in a relationship with a shifter. Okay, honey?" I put my face on my knees and instinctively nodded, "Okay.."
 I whispered to no one. "What?" I heard from behind the door. I sprung to my feet and wiped the tears that had started to form in my eyes, "N-Nothing... What do you want?" My tone was full of venom, and it caused an awkward silence between me and the door. "I just wanted to say that it's okay.." I froze for a moment, contemplating on what to say, but suddenly I was overcome with fury, "Easy for you to say! You're not the one who's father is going to be killed for having some sort of monster half-human child!" The floodgates opened and a waterfall of tears fell from my eyes, "You're not the one who ruined your life when all your friends found out you were a freak..." Everything stopped after that. Time itself was standing still at that moment. I thought he had left, it felt like more than an hour since he had said anything, but before I could fall apart, he spoke, "My dad died because of me... and I never had any friends other than Yukio..." I could hear the sadness in his voice, almost feel it. It took me a few minutes to calm down, but once I had I opened the door and looked up at him. His face was pink, like he was about to cry. I felt bad now.. "H-Hey... I'm sorry, don't cry.. I didn't know that um.. you uh.. I just... Want to come in and sit?" I pointed to one of the bunk beds in the room and gave a sympathetic look to him. I could see a soft smile forming on his lips, so I decided to just pull him into the room and set him down on the bed. "Let's start over as ourselves.." I said confidently and nodded to him, "I'll start. Hi, I'm Death Nigami, I'm a Human Shifter. You are?" "R-Rin Okumura.." he whispered. He seemed really nervous, so I decided to lighten the mood. "Hi Rin. Have you ever played truth or dare?" I smiled warmly at him. He nodded his head, "Yeah.." "Perfect!" I clapped my hands, "Then I'll go first.. Truth or Dare!" I mentally crossed my fingers that he would say truth. "Truth.." he whispered. Yes! "Tell me more about yourself!" There was doubt in his eyes, "That's not how you pl-" "SHH SHH," I cut him off, "YOU GOTTA DO IT." He sighed and looked into my eyes, "Well, I'm a half demon half human too.... and my father just so happens to be uh.. smmhmm.." His words trailed off into mumbles so I snapped him back, "What was that?" "My father is uh.. Satan.." Whoa whoa whoa... What now?

   My eyes were wider than saucers, I'm sure! "Satan? You mean.. ruler of Gehenna?" He nodded. For some reason, I wasn't as surprised as I thought I would be. "Oh.. okay. Nothing wrong with that. I can't believe he fell in love with a human!" The mood got lighter when I laughed, he seemed to be okay now, and so was I. I got up and sat closer to him on the bed, "So if you want we can keep going with the game!" A faint smile graced his lips and he leaned back a bit, relaxed, "Okay.. Truth or dare?" I waited a moment then nodded to myself, "Truth." "Is it true you think you're a freak?" My smile weakened a bit, "Yeah.." "Well you're not," he was quick to reply. My strong smile returned and I looked over at him from the side, "Thanks.. same to you." We both took a moment then he turned and looked me straight on. I followed in his way and looked into his deep blue eyes, "Truth or dare.." He blinked a few times, fighting with the silence, "Truth.." "Do you like someone at the moment?" A soft sense of fear filled me, was I starting to like him more than a... friend? I think so.. "Yeah, I think so.." I was slightly crushed, I wondered who it could be.. Shiemi perhaps... maybe. "Truth or dare?" his face was slightly mischievous looking now. "Truth.." "Do YOU like someone?" I looked away and sighed, "Yeah but... I think he likes someone else.." a voice crack interrupted me halfway through the sentence, but I held back the sadness in my voice. I looked back to him and he looked somewhat devastated, perhaps he likes me too? No, that's ridiculous. He probably just wonders who it is. "Truth or dare?" "Truth.." I sighed, the whole truth train was getting too long, "Does the person you like go to class with you?" "Yeah.." he nodded and blushed a bit. This adorable little child, I swear can he just not be so attracting? "Truth or dare!" he said quickly. "T-Truth? I-I mean dare.." "Okay, I dare you to tell me who you like.." My face lit up, I could feel the heat from it! "W-Well I mean..." I didn't know what to say, should I just tell him or.. ? "I like you.." it came out as a whisper, I could feel the tenseness in my legs, I just wanted to melt then and there. "I like you too.. You're a cool girl.." I perked my ears and looked at him, "R-Really? I thought you.. but you barely know me! I-I barely know you!" "That doesn't mean we can't get to know eachother.." I smiled a dumb little smile and grabbed onto his hand. He let his smile droop and bit and he got closer to me, our faces becoming just a few inches apart. I leaned in a bit, our foreheads touched and I could feel his warm breath on my face and neck, I was excited to finally tell him. I was excited to finally have someone like me. He went to close the gap, our lips getting closer by the second...
