Aaradhya's Pov.

My parents were happy while chatting with Riddhant. I was scared to announce them about my job.
My parents were not conservative but they were highly protective about their daughters.

"Aaradhya, Ardu?" Maa snapped her fingers breaking my chain of thoughts.

"Where were you lost?" She sounded concerned.
Riddhant and Dad looked at me with confusion etched on their faces.

"Maa, Dad. I want to tell you something." I spoke with reluctance.

"Yes Aaradhya, tell us dear." This time Dad asked me.

"Dad, Maa. As you already know about Riddhant's transfer to Mumbai."

They both nodded together.

"So I had applied for a job and I got one in Mumbai too." I said with hesitation.

Maa looked astonished while Dad had no expression on his face.

"When were you planning to tell us?" Maa raised her voice.

"Maa, I just applied few days back and I was just interviewed by a firm. It happened all of a sudden. I swear Maa. I didn't want to hide." I defended myself.

"When are you called to work?" Dad finally asked.

"Next week." I said.

"Are you crazy Aaradhya? How could we send you all alone?
You are not just talking about working but working in Mumbai. In a completely different city." Maa raged in anger.

"Maa, I know but I said yes."

"How could you just decide for yourself without asking for our opinion. You never showed this kind of behaviour earlier. Aaradhya!" Maa continued yelling.

Dad didn't speak but remained quiet. Riddhant and Aditi were constantly looking at us.

I was on the verge of tears after hearing Maa's words.

"You are getting married in few months and such attitude would do no good, young lady. I am highly disappointed." Maa hissed.

"Aaradhya, It is just that we are concerned about you dear. I know that we had no problem of you working but that was in Pune. Mumbai is a different city. You never stayed without any of us and we can't leave everything here and accompany you. We just think you're not ready for it now." Dad spoke calmly.

"If you want to work in Mumbai, You can work after your marriage and with Riddhant's approval, you can." Dad looked at Riddhant.

"Sorry to interrupt you Uncle but I don't mind if Aaradhya wants to work whether it's before we get married or after. It's completely her decision though I'm glad that she asked for my opinion earlier." Riddhant interrupted Dad.
