"I changed my mind, I don't want to go in there!" Charlie said going to leave as soon as they arrived outside the Forney household.

Anora quickly grabbed him by the back of his shirt and dragged him back towards the house.

"Oh no...if I have to face your family, you have to face mine." she told him.

"But..."

"Charles..." she said with a stern expression, "I have to drop off Iggy anyways, he's not going to want to travel all over with us. Isn't that right, Iggy?"

Iggy hopped off her shoulder and trailed up the steps up to the Forney household, scratching at the door with a loud meow.

"Alright, but just a reminder, I can't marry you if I'm dead!" Charlie told her.

"They're not going to kill you, Charlie. Well...my mum might and my dad, he's...let's just get this over with."

Anora knocked on the door briefly before allowing herself in. As soon as she opened the door, her parents appeared in the hall, as Iggy darted inside.

Charlie went to make another run for it, but Anora grabbed his hand quickly and pulled him inside.

"Anora!" Simone said happily. "We weren't expecting you! Or Charlie for that matter!"

The woman seemed pleasantly surprised and so did Gerald upon seeing his daughter. It was only when the two parents were walking towards them to hug their daughter did they realize the two were holding hands.

Simone noticed it first and stopped, staring at their intertwine fingers and then noticing the smile on Anora's face.

"Are you two..." Simone clapped her hands over her mouth for a moment. "You two are together?!?"

Charlie nodded his head only to be greeted by shrill scream in his ears as Simone started nearly jumping up and down in place.

"Oh how I've waited for this moment!" Simone said.

"Finally." Gerald responded with a chuckle. "Took you two long enough, didn't it?"

"Ha ha," Anora forced herself to laugh, "well you guys, the funny thing is...and you guys are going to laugh because well...we've ...you tell them Charlie." Anora pushed him forward.

Charlie gave her a dirty look before facing Anora's parents as she hid behind him.

"What's so funny?" Gerald asked folding his arms.

"Well, you see.. Anora and I.. we've actually been together for quite some time." he admitted quickly.

The parents stood quiet for a moment, just looking back and forth between the two younger adults.

"When you say some time? How long is some time?" Gerald questioned.

Anora awkwardly scratched the back of her head looking anywhere but at them.

"Anora!" Simone raised her voice in slight shock.

"Okay, so you guys remember when I came home because Charlie and I had that little spat-"

"MERLIN, IT'S BEEN THAT LONG?!" Simone cried.

Charlie watched as Anora's mother went off in her French language while Gerald shook his head.

"That's not all of it either!" Anora yelled over her mother's rapid ranting.

The two parents were locked on their daughter, while Anora shuffled uneasily mumbling something to them.

"What did you say?" Gerald asked.

"I said...Charlie and I are...engaged."

Charlie hadn't witnessed too many people faint in his lifetime, but he expected it to happen with Simone, he did not, however, expect Gerald to faint.

"Dad!"

Anora rushed forward to her father's side as Charlie shook his head. "I'm glad everyone is taking this so well. I was really hoping no one would overreact."

Once Gerald had recovered from shock, Charlie found himself sitting across from the man in the kitchen while Anora took on her mother in the living room. He could hear the woman scolding Anora for not coming out about the whole relationship from the beginning and sobbed as to why her daughter would keep such a thing from her.

Charlie glanced up from his hands up to the male Forney, which was just as scary as staring down a dragon in that case. He normally saw Gerald as docile with dry humor, but the man before him had a look that could kill and Charlie realized where his soon-to-be wife got her fire from.

"I know you're upset with me." Charlie said. "And I know I should have asked for you permission-"

"My permission?" Gerald repeated.

Charlie met his gaze. "Well, yes...isn't that what I am supposed to do?"

"Charlie, I don't believe in asking a father's permission to marry his daughter. I didn't ask Simone's father if I could ask for her hand in marriage. It was her decision to make, not his. The same with Anora, it is her life and her decisions."

"I saw it more as a respect thing but-"

"Then the respectful thing to do would to let us know that you two were in a relationship to begin with."

"I realize that." Charlie said. "We didn't plan on it going on that long. Not the relationship, but keeping it from everyone...we just wanted to see where it would go before we told everyone. Then we didn't want to do it through a letter and...it got really complicated. I'm sorry."

"I don't want you to be sorry, Charlie." Gerald said. "What I want you to do is be happy and make Anora happy. Apparently, like you've been doing. You've kept her safe this long at the sanctuary..."

"Well, I think it's the other way around but sure let's go with that."

"The point is, you make my daughter happy and if Anora is happy, I'm happy. But I'm going to ask you one thing if you're going to be my future son-in-law..."

"Okay, sure."

"Please let me know things before too long. Next thing I need is you guys telling us that Anora was pregnant after she gives birth."

Charlie stared at him.

"She's not pregnant too is she?!" Gerald went wide eyed.

"No! No! At least not to my knowledge."

"Anora!" Gerald called out to his daughter.

"No!" Anora yelled back.

Gerald sighed in relief. "Thank Merlin."
