Hello! So, you've decided to pick up a book and enter the world of Warriors. It's a little confusing at first, but we're sure this guide can help you. Now, here's the introduction to help you into the world of Warrior cats!
~•~
The Clans and Camps
These are the homes of the Warriors, where the live, what they protect and what they fight for. It's always regarded as the safe spot for kits to grow up and the elders to live the last moons of their lives in peace. It's a place where the apprentices rest after a hard day of training, where the warriors leave the prey they've hunted and rest. It's where the leader and deputy take care of everyone and the medicine cats heal everyone. As mentioned at the beginning, it's home to the cats.
Now, the four Clans have had many battles over territories and camp locations. The original four even had to move from the forest, but we'll touch on that later. We won't go into too much detail about to the Clan territories, because that'll be a chapter of its own, but we'll go with the basics.
ThunderClan
This Clan lives in the woodlands, hunting among the trees and among the thick underbrush. They are trained on how to pounce, how to keep from alerting prey in the undergrowth, and how to hunt and fight in the trees. They are usually considered the nicest Clan, quicker to accept new members and always trying to help whenever they can. The other three Clans dislike ThunderClan for this, wanting to keep their own pride and do things themselves.
ShadowClan
ShadowClan cats live in the dark, marshy forests among the pine trees. They are trained to be silent hunters, using their darkly colored pelts and skills to elusively stalk their prey. They also use the night to their advantage, and both of these skills transfer over to battle. The ShadowClan cats are generally thought of as cold-hearted, mean, over-confident, too prideful, or even downright evil, but while some of these are true, they are generally just independent cats. ShadowClan has always seemed to have a never-ending fued/dislike for ThunderClan, hating how the other Clan was always trying to help them when they really don't want it.
RiverClan
This water-loving Clan lives by water- obviously -and streams. They do, however, have a camp out of water- although some young kits think they live in the water. They pride themselves with being the only Clan who can and will swim and get in the water to catch prey. In dire situations, they'll hunt on land, catching water-voles and other small morsels. They, unlike ShadowClan, while still quite independent, did look upon ThunderClan at times. An example of this is when Fireheart and Greystripe caught prey for the Clan when their's was running low.
WindClan
These are the fast runners, the cats who feel at home on the moor. Their home, the moors, are treeless, grassy plains with many rabbit holes for hunting. As apprentices, the cats learn how to spot things in the distance, work together to bring down birds, and run fast enough to catch rabbits. WindClan cats had an ancient, but discontinued, tradition of tunneling. They are generally cats who have the strongest StarClan belief, and are thought to be the descendants of the original forest cats from Dawn Of The Clans. WindClan cats are usually open and pretty much indifferent to the other Clans' fueds, but when they're accused of prey stealing or tresspassing, they can become a serious threat. WindClan isn't usually against help from other Clans, but they are independent and when they don't want help, they waste no time making it known. These cats are usually known for short tempers and long tails and legs.
