"Bye Mom." I yelled as I ran out the door, my mug of steamy hot chocolate in one hand and my binder and books in the other.
"See you Julie." My mom called down the stairs after me.
I slammed the door unintentionally and jump-stepped across my door mat. Today was my first day of grade 12.

I fished around in my purse balancing with all my might my things in my left hand, while unlocking the door of my car. I smiled as I threw my bags onto the passenger seat and waited for the car to warm up. This year was going to be great.

I had tons of friends and basically, if I wasn't studying of course, I was with them. I wouldn't say I was a nerd but I wasn't the MOST popular. I shifted my car into reverse and backed out of my driveway. This year was where I was going to do great. Everything was riding on this year, if my grades went down I couldn't get into the University I wanted to and my life would pretty much fall apart.

I down the radio and backed into my parking spot in the back corner of the parking lot. I was soon greeted my Danielle stepping out of her car beside me.
"Hey Danny!" I smiled as I locked my door and walked towards the bleach blonde girl.
"Hey Julie!" Danny looked kind of nervous for some reason, I don't know why, I mean our squad is pretty cool.
We walked into the entrance and I shuffled up to my circle of girls overjoyed at how lucky I was to have them.
"How was everyone's summer?" I asked and we all shared our crazy memories from the past few months. Soon the blaring bell rang and snapped me into the crazy reality of high school. Anxiety, drama, tests well, exams now, boys. Ugh. I have to think more positive. This year me and my group of girlfriends are going to take the school my storm when we come up with some crazy prom decorations. I smiled at my thought. This was going to be great.
On the first day of school everyone met in their home rooms from last year and the grade tens were thrown in by their last names. I had no friends in my home room and I was hoping that my other classes would not turn out to be the same way. Everyone was gathered around Daniel, the popular kids desk laughing when I walked in, except for one person.
She had perfectly curled red hair and wore just the right amount of makeup to accentuate her blue eyes. She smiled at me and flashed her perfect teeth as I walked over to her desk. New year, new beginnings I figured as I sat beside her.

"Hey I'm Julie."

"Hi Julie, I'm Anna. Nice to meet you."

"I haven't see you around before, are you new here?" I asked the fiery haired girl. She seemed happy to be accepted by me already. Actually, she even seemed like a girl who could fit into our squad. And since she was new girl I could finish my good deed of the day.

"Yeah I am, thanks for welcoming me by the way it means a lot." She replied nervously.

"No problem you should come and sit with us today after home room, I'm sure my friends would love you."

"Really?" She seemed amazed. "That would be awesome."

"Yeah." I replied.

A few minutes later, my teacher finally got off of his ass and handed us our schedules.
Math. Bio. English. Socials.
Yikes.

The bell rang and I led Anna to our usual table.

"Hey girls this is Anna, she's new here so I thought I'd make her feel welcome."
All of my friends welcomed her and we conversed in our usual manner ranting about random things.

"Well, you guys seem nice. You know what? I wanna make an impact here so I decided to throw a party on Friday. I think you all should come you see like you'd be fun. Invite everyone you know, in fact I'm putting up posters tomorrow. It's gonna be big, and you're gonna be there." Anna laughed.

All of my friends faces looked horrified. We weren't exactly the partying type. At all.
"Sure see you there." I said. Text me your address and we'll all carpool there.
My friends jaws were on the floor as I stood up and shoved my phone into my purse.

"Well I gotta clean my room before I'm allowed to leave my house so I'm heading home. Bye guys." I lied and stood up.

I can't believe I just invited this bitch into my  group and she's inviting US to a party. The one fucking time I try to be nice.
