"You really think Roscoe is waiting for Norberta to become of mating age?" Sebastian asked as he sat down beside Anora who was sitting in the field, a little ways from the two dragons. The two dragons were currently lying down face to face staring at each other.

Anora smiled. "I do."

"They look like they hate each other."

"Trust me, Sebs. If they really hated each other, one of them would be dead."

"Who do you think would win in a fight between them?" he asked.

Anora glanced out. "Neither of them."

"What? Neither of them!? I'm surprised you didn't say Roscoe."

"Roscoe has size, there is no doubt about that but while his size and strength is incredible, he lacks in speed. Norberta with her speed, she has the advantage."

"No way. Roscoe could kill her with a swipe of his tail if he wanted to."

"That's if he could land it on her." Anora said. "Strength doesn't matter if you can't hit your target."

"I honestly don't believe Roscoe would lose."

"He would because he would never bring himself to hurt her...that's his mate."

Anora said resting back, her elbows kept her propped up.

"Dragons don't have mates. They mate for a time and then go about their ways."

"Not in all cases." Anora corrected him again. "I've spoken with others at sanctuaries all over the world...there are cases of mated dragons. It's more prominent in China though. Not only do the female dragons guard their nests out there but the males as well."

"Hmmph..." Sebastian replied. "Well, I'll believe it when I see these two.."

"Look at them Sebs." Anora pointed out at the two dragons. "Most dragons won't remain in the company of another outside of mating season. Even the elders like their space. Norberta put a nasty gash on Roscoe's head and yet he's still in her presence...if Norberta had done that to Sultan she would have been long dead."

"How romantic, Roscoe's not killing her, they must be in love."

"Shut up, Sebs. You're just jealous of them."

"I am not jealous of two dragons."

"You are too. You know, you're always complaining about relationships, you might want to take some pointers from Roscoe instead of the other male dragons around here."

Sebastian gave her a dirty look. "Excuse you...it's not a matter of my dating skills, it's actually about finding the person to take on a date. Thank you."

"Well, between you and me, I heard Magnus is single and ready to mingle." she winked at him. "You would never be bored in a relationship with him."

"So this is the one?" The jeweler said eyeing the ring that Charlie held carefully in his fingers.

Charlie smiled. "Yes, this one is absolutely perfect. She's going to love it."

"Boy, I certainly hope so. After all we've been through if she doesn't say yes, I will." the jeweler told him.

Charlie stared at him for a moment. "Er...thank you, but I'm counting on her saying yes."

"For Sir Iggy, killing mice...is no biggie." Anora sighed as she found another dead mouse upon the stairs leading up to the home. As she walked inside, Iggy was resting in one of the chairs.

"Igs, I appreciate your gifts you know, but uh...I don't get much use out of them. Feel free to eat the mouse instead of presenting to me. This is third time I've almost stepped on one you brought home, and I really don't want to clean dead mouse off the bottom of my boot."

Iggy meowed before stretching out, allowing his legs to hang off the chair as he looked up at her.

"Still no sign of Charlie, eh?" she asked placing her hands on her hips. "I swear if this goes on for much longer, I'm going to grab Magnus by the nip and twist until he tells me."

Iggy meowed again.

"You're right, he probably would like that. Never mind." she leaned against the counter. "I don't want to believe that Charlie is avoiding me, but it certainly feels like it. Haven't seen him at all these past couple of days and no one is telling me anything. I would think he would tell me if he needed space. But it's not like I hover over him all the time...ugh...this is all horribly frustrating."

Suddenly, a loud crack occurred outside and then there was a banging sound on the door.

"What in the hell?" Anora walked over and opened the door to find Charlie on the front steps, rubbing his head and looking slightly disoriented. She knelt down beside him.

"Are you alright...did...wait a second? Did you apparate here?"

"I did." he grinned at her.

"But why?"

"So I could be here with you..."

She smiled and sat beside him. "Are you ever going to get the hang of apparating?" she laughed as she ran her hand over his face.

"Maybe one day. I'm getting better at it every time." he said. "Are you busy?" he suddenly asked her.

"Uh no...I can't say I am."

"Good."

He was up on his feet and offered his hand.

"Come spend some time with me."
