Ace X Reader: Memory

NOTE: so I've decided to extend this story.
Remember now, Ace is alive in this. He didn't die. Ok? Ok. It makes me cry. K.

"Ughh..."
The fiery hearted, raven haired boy slowly and very frailly got up from the hospital bed, using his arms for guidance.
"Where... Where am I?" He seemed surprised, shocked.
"Oh! Oh, you're awake!"
A high pitched voice came from next to him; definitely a woman's.

He looked over to her.

"Huh?" He titled his head.
"Ace, you're in the hospital. The war ended." The teary eyed girl, you, explained.
"Okay..." He sat up. "Who are you?"

You looked shocked. Crazy shocked.
How could he forget about you? After all, you were his girlfriend, and known him for 5 years.
You began crying.
"Ace... I..." You covered your mouth. "Is it really that bad that you don't remember me...?"

He looked down - he didn't know what to say.

Weeks from that event went by.
Ace was sent home, and because he had no where to go, he stayed with you.
You fed him, helped him, walked with him, helped him recover. Everything.
"Ace." You firmly called, sitting next to him. "Do you remember me?"

"No."

Months after the war.
Everything he did now, was thanks to you, and you did it even when he didn't remember you!
One of these days, he sat you down.
He was mostly recovered.

"(Y/N)...." He began.
"Yes, Ace?"
"I don't remember you."
You looked down a bit, kind of sad.
"But what I do know is that..."
"That?"
"That I love you. That you're the love of my life. And because of that, I was forever

love you."
