Jack's excitement practically jumped off of him while we are working together on school work. I wasn't even focused on work anymore. All I did was look at Jack, admiring his features while he pretended to talk to me about what we are working on. Not that I minded this extra time of waiting around. I need this time to figure out what I'm going to tell him. Hopefully, he will make it easy. My mother says something in the background about how she is leaving and to have fun, and I automatically mutter something along the lines of, "I'll see you later." As soon as the door closes and locks, Jack looks at me with hungry eyes of hazel and, tackles me into the couch.
He showers me with little kisses, his hands in my black curly hair as usual. My hands, always near his chest, holding him up, keeping my distance. He always kisses me passionately, almost hungry for me. His eyes closed, I keep mine ever so slightly open looking at his little details while he is kissing me. He never notices this. I drop my hands from his chest and he crashes on top of me
" I'm not a piece of fucking cake, Jack." I giggle. He loves me too much sometimes. Jack blushes and it makes his long blond hair pop out. He seems to have his green eyes come out now.
"I know but you're a handsome guy named Alex. It's hard not to be on you all the time."He smiles. He always manages to make me feel good. He watches me, looking for my reaction. I sit in silence. I'm not good at reacting to these things.
"Hey let's go outside babe, it's so pretty out today." He says suddenly. He is better at handling uncomfortable situations and getting rid of them. Or it could be that Jack always wants to be unexpected. He succeeded either way.
Might as well give him what he wants today. He is going to need it if I'm unlucky. "Okay, you win Jack lets go roll in the grass or some bullshit that people do outside." I pause looking at his posh clothing. "Do you want some sweatpants before we go outside?" Laughing at his easily stained clothes. Jack may be much more outdoors than me, but he never wears clothes meant for outside.
"Trying to get me naked, are we?" His eyes twinkling with laughter.
"You know what I mean." I roll my eyes. He always is well dressed which he says is just for me. I throw him some comfy pants and I pretend to go to the kitchen to get water, never taking my eyes off of him. His lean body is graceful and quick. It has a beauty that Jack himself knows well, always showing it off to me. He tries to impress me all the time. I walk back to the living room and he takes my hand smiling, possibly knowing I was watching him, admiring him. I unlock the door to the fresh backyard.
We lay under the tree in the soft long grass, his head on my chest. I control my breathing to be steady even if inside I'm shaking. I can feel Jack's heart beat in my waist. His eyes look dark brown under this tree. I absorb this moment taking in every little detail. The clear blue sky, the fluffy clouds, Jack holding on to me tightly. I take in the smell of fresh grass and Jack who always smells like candy and cologne. I hear the sound of elementary kids playing in the street past the wood fence, I hear the sound of life. I get the question out abruptly not knowing that even said it. " What colleges did you accepted into?" I ask nonchalantly.
Jack sighs, "I knew this was coming." And Jack starts listing what he got. I'm barely listening hoping to hear one school in the list. I hear Juilliard in the list, which Jack,a musical genius, in my opinion, would obviously have that as his first choice.
"Did you get into Harvard?" I ask hopefully. If he did then everything will be okay.
"Haha, yeah right," Jack exclaims. " I bet not even you can get into...." He stops and he sits up abruptly. "YOU GOT INTO HARVARD, DIDN'T YOU? ALEX, THAT IS CRAZY YOU GOT INTO THE BEST SCHOOL IN THE U.S.!!" Jack drones on and on about how good I did and how I'm smart and other things. His long hair, that needed to be cut, hung over his eyes, flying around excitedly. His eyes, now, looking a beautiful sky blue. He didn't seem to realize the downfalls of it yet.
