I peer up at him, waiting. Anticipating something to happen. But nothing does, his breathing just continues to be uneasy. My inner self begs me to lean my head forward and to just go for it, and I do. I inch up and he intakes a sharp breath and turns his head. I freeze, my stomach turning, looking at his face scrunched up and his eyes closed.
"You.." He breathes out and, "I'm bad for you, Allison, don't do this."
I stare down at his lips that just said those words to me and I stop breathing. He doesn't like me.. He doesn't want to kiss me.. He pulls away and places his hands on my shoulders, trying to steady me.
"I'm fine." I snap quietly and shrug his hands off my shoulder and turn around and start heading back to curb on the street, looking for cars. There's none, so I start to cross. How could I be so stupid?? I tried to make a move and it didn't work. What is wrong with me? Is it the way I look? The way I dress? I'm so mortified and humiliated, why would the most wealthiest man in Manchester want anything to do with me, a poor and lonely girl who can't even afford a shirt from Topshop. He catches up at me and stands by my side.
"Thanks." I mutter, looking ahead of me.
"For?" He asks.
"Saving me." I say quietly, shrugging my shoulders.
"It was that asshole's fault, you had the right away." He says angrily, "If I wasn't here, you could have been hit. Do you want to come back to my place and sit down?"
We've stopped at a cross walk and wait until the walk symbol comes on, I look up at him and just shake my head, he frowns. I don't want to go back to his room after he's just told me I should stay away from him! What is he getting at? As soon as the symbol turns I walk hurriedly across the street leaving him behind me.
"Allison!" I hear him call me as he runs up towards me, I turn onto the street where I see Daron parked. Thank god, almost there.
"Allison, is everything okay?" Harry stops and pulls on my arm so I'm turned to face him.
"I'm fine!" I say more meanly then I tend to, he looks at me with scrunched eyebrows, "Thank you for dinner." I mutter this time and try to look away from him, but he cups my chin and makes me look up at him.
"Are you sure you don't want to come back to my place?" He asks me, his eyes locked into mine.
"No, it's okay." I say and he sighs loudly, he let's go of my chin and we continue to walk to the car. Daron steps out of the car and opens my door for me. I thank him and scoot in, closer to the other side this time so I don't have to touch him. Harry's long legs climb into the car and Daron shuts the door. Harry gives me a quick glance before turning his focus on the back of the passenger seat. This is going to be an awkward ride home.
When we get to my house Harry steps out of the car first and strides over to my side. He opens my door and I grab my purse and climb out of the car. I don't want him to walk me to the door, but he does anyway. I stop at the door and take my keys out.
"Allison, uhm-" He starts to say, but then he stops. I dig in my purse, with my keys in hand, trying to act like I'm still looking. I'm waiting for him to say something, but he seems like he can't finish it. I take my keys out and turn to face him.
"What, Harry?" I snap irritably at him, his eyes grow wide as I stare at him. Either it's the way I keep snapping at him, or because I just used his real name.
