a/n : ok i made this up but in this fanfic the first heroes (from ep 1) are like 10-12 ok and it was 8 years since the first ep . Sly was 12 and Jess 11. Making them 20 and 19 now.

''Sly, seriously where are you?!'' Kala's annoyed voice shouted at him from the phone.

''Why do you need to know?'' I signed

''We need your help'' Her stern voice came from her side.

I was a bit taken back ''Why? What happened?"

''There are some new monsters we never saw before attacking everywhere. They are weak enough to us to kill them in a hit but they come in big packs. We barely defended The Hall and Asgard.''

''I see, are they attacking anywhere else?'' I asked.

''No, only places with high Hero power. The Hall because its where heroes gather and we build it and Asgard because Je-'' Kala gulped ''Jess was a powerful hero and its near The Hall''

''I see. Well, its better I stay here then'' I answered.

''What?! Why?!'' Kala shouted.

''I am investigating a place with high hero power. I bet those monsters will attack here'' I explained himself. Its not exactly a lie because if Asgard has enough power to get attacked Phoenix Drop will get attacked just as easily.

''I see'' Kala said and soon after a few voices could be heard from her side. I could hear Kala talk to the voices and then she came back to me. ''Sorry, continue''

''How do those monsters look like?'' I asked once again.

''They are similar to Gawkens' but they have more arms and they are yellow, orange or red. And they glow.'' Kala described them ''We called them Starkens''

''Creative'' I said in a sarcastic tone.

''Jose made that one up'' She defended herself.

''No wonder its bad'' I rolled my eyes ''Anyways thanks for the info. Night''

Kala signed ''Yea.. Night'' She hung up soon after.

I put my phone back in my pocket and turned around to the plaza. I wanted to explore the forest, maybe I will find some plants I can find something interesting. Before I could enter the plaza I heard the sounds of footsteps behind me. I quickly turned around and to my surprise it was Jess. She had a huge smile on her face and she was running towards to me.

''Sly!'' She called out and she tackled me. I didn't fall down but I did take a few steps back to balance myself.

I so bad wanted to hug her back but after those news from Kala. The Starkens might end up killing me while I defend this village, and I can't die after she reunites with me. I can't do that to her.

''Sorry but I'm not sly.'' I made up a quick lie. ''I'm his son.''

''What?'' She whimpered ''Come on' stop joking!''

''Aphmau.. or should I say Jess'' I continued with the lie ''Sly is dead, I'm his son.''

She laughed, but her eyes were glassy. ''Good Joke! Sly can't be dead. He is about 20 now! No way!''

''Sly was killed in a explosion.'' I told her regrettably.

''Then how do you look exactly like him?'' She said in a shaky voice.

''I was born three years ago. Sly invented a potion to fasten my growth a few months after you left. I grew in 2 weeks as if it was 20 years'' Another lie. I tried to make a potion like that but it failed.

She put her head down ''Oh..'' she whispered ''So.. he is dead.''

''Yes'' I didn't want to crack her any further, after knowing her 8 years , I learned that she is like a porcelain doll. She'd been broken and fixed numerous times and if she breaks again , her parts will be too weak to get fixed again.

Jess looked up to me but looked down immediately after. I started hearing her sobbing, it broke my heart to lie for her bit. She knelled down and buried her face into her hands. Her whimpering getting louder and louder. I wrapped my arms around her.

''I'm sorry'' I whispered quietly so she won't hear it.
