When she opened her eyes, he wasn't there.
Of course he isn't here, she thought. He has a two-day stay at the PV shoot.
It was a holiday for her, but her favourite bassist had a slightly less specific schedule.
"Reita, I hope you get back soon-ow!"
She clutched her stomach in pain. It felt like someone had pushed a knife into her tummy.
A trip to the bathroom only confirmed her suspicions.
Well, looks like it's that damn time of the month again.

Reita came back later in the afternoon. He was very tired from all the work, and was looking forward to an evening with the love of his life (after music and bikes).
"I'm home," he said tiredly. When he didn't hear a response, he sighed. He figured she'd be in the bathroom, and would come out eventually.
That was before he saw the lump in the bed they shared.
"Hey, babe," Reita whispered, sitting on the bed, next to her.
"Hey," she mumbled.
"Bad day?" He asked.
She shook her head.
He noticed her hold on her stomach tighten.
"That time of the month?"
"Yup." She was quite open with him about things like these, so she had no problem telling him; she was just too exhausted from the cramps.
Reita slipped under the covers and cupped her cheek with his hand. "Want to cuddle?" He asked.
She snuggled up into his warm body as he held her close. Reita rubbed her back gently to soothe her. When she calmed down, he rubbed her belly to lessen the cramps.
"Thanks, babe," she said. "I feel better already."
"That's good." He smiled. "Do you want me to run you a bath?"
"Thanks...but I'm kinda sleepy..."
"Relax, love, just rest today, and after you wake up, I'll do something nice for you."
"...I love you, Reita," she mumbled.
"I love you too."

When she woke up, Reita was still there. He was wide awake, and was reading a novel with one had wrapped around her waist.
"Oh, you're awake! How are you feeling?"
"A little better...I'm hungry now, though..."
"No problem!" Reita jumped out of bed, carrying her bridal-style to the kitchen. He set her down on a chair, and began pulling out various things from all the kitchen cupboards.
"Reita, are you sure this is a good idea?" She asked. "You don't know much cooking..."
"Of course I know! I even called Kai for advice while you were asleep!"
"But didn't you say some years ago that Kai's cooking isn't that great..?"
Reita wasn't listening. He fiddled around for a bit before leaving something to cook on the stove. "Okay, this will be ready in--"
At the same time, there was a small explosion around the utensils Reita had left on the stove.
She gulped as she turned around. Just as she feared, Reita had screwed up the ingredient proportions, and now everything was combining into something that smelled really foul.
The two looked at each other for a minute...and burst out laughing. They laughed and laughed until tears rolled down their cheeks.
"Okay," Reita said, pulling himself together, "shall we order pizza tonight?"
"That's a good idea," she said, still giggling. "You clean up the mess, since you caused it--"
"--and I'll call the pizza parlour."
She kissed Reita on the lips. "All your efforts weren't in vain," she told him. "I feel better already! Heck, if you did this more often, then I'd actually look forward to my time of the month."
