Cara's POV
I woke up to the sound of a deep voice shouting. My eyes fluttered open as I looked to my left side and saw a somewhat muscular person wiggling around and was surrounded by nurses. One of them started speaking but I couldn't hear what she was saying. Somewhere in her sentence, I heard her mention my name so I quickly pretended to be sleeping. All of a sudden the screaming stopped and it was silent other than the doctors squeaking stool. There was something tapping against the floor and I heard the door swing open. When I was convinced no one was here anymore, I sat upright and stared at the floor. I could finally cry without any nurses around being clingy. Just as I thought I had some space, a pair of feet came into view infront of me. When I looked up I saw the same young man who was screaming earlier and woke me up. His hair was a dark brown like mine and was spiked up in the front. He had olive skin and looked about 5'9 with a perfect body structure. My heart stopped when I started to think he was sent by my parents to watch me here. He spoke up and said,"Hi", with a gentle smile on his face. My eyes quickly faced down to my lap when I noticed I was staring, and I waved back at him. If he was sent by them then he wouldn't be nice to me because everytime I end up here, the ones they send aren't nice. I couldn't help but note that he probably thinks I'm ugly with all of these burns. "What happened to you?" He asked cutting off my thoughts. My smile quickly went away as I remember the burning building and the feeling of my face melting in the sizzling heat. As an instinct, I looked up and said that I don't know what happened. I could tell he knew I was lying but didn't push me further.
"My name is Cameron, Cameron Dallas." he said while sticking his hand out for me to shake. As I skeptically reached out to shake it, he asked me another question. One that hit me in the heart like a punch. "Where are your parents?" My body froze and I looked up at him with teary eyes. The thought of them made chills go up my spine. At the moment I couldn't care if he kidnapped me somehow. I remember all the things they did to me, that is, before they disappeared and I winded up in this hospital. All the nurses try to convince me that they di-. He cut me off asking me if I had friends. Why was this person so eager to learn about me? I slowly shook my head and felt embarrassed with all of these questions. He lifted my chin up so I was looking in his eyes. I could see in his eyes that this stranger cared for me in some sort of way that I didn't understand.
"Do you want me to be your friend and visit you?" Why was this guys so eager to make me happy. My face lit up and I nodded my head so much. After saying goodbye, he left the room and I heard muffled talking outside the door. Ignoring it, I rolled on to my other side and fell asleep with my deep thoughts once again.
